I'm talking NPC Orcs and not the RP Orcs! I slay a lot of Orcs...and I mean a lot, in fact with a few changes I may never slay anything else! So here are my proposals to make Orcs great again! 1. Boss mob please! Like really they could use a Chieftain to help lead the tribe, they are being slaughtered by the hundreds!!! 2. 10% increase in gold/hit points. These guys are constantly raiding, their strength and stores of gold should be increasing by now!! 3. Orc Lords should carry some sort of potion, why else are they lords!!! 4. Orc Stronghold!! South East T2A is a bit lacking, I think the Orcs should set up a massive fort there with a sub fort/cave below it...just saying. 5. Pet resistant!! No tamers allowed! Lets hear is folks! What do you think? Something to take away from taming! ** Increased plat drops on all orc! /sarcasm
Zug Zug! I wish there were more rp-ish people out there to rebirth the orcs. the naturalist guild would totally war it up. Can have leaders and stories etc. even orc ones!
I think it would be neat to have them spawn in groups randomly and give them AI to roam about in the group and edge up to towns and so on. Would probably be a strain on the server though haha.
I have suggested multiple times that tames be restricted (through fear of being eaten) from Orc Caves. Additionally, some magical barriers to prevent the use of ethereal mounts, to make a fun place to have RP battles with people on foot. Aside from that, sure, sounds like a bunch of neat ideas.
Orception We need to go deeper... Wait for it..... Orcs get a roaming champ spawn Whaaaaaaaaaaa? Ok so just like the chance to spawn a rare animal youd get the chance to spawn a rare orc. If you kill that orc then 2 immediately spawn and so on until youve killed 100 then or braves, then bombers and so on and so on until you spawn a double sized orc that brings to you, my friends, the smack down of smack downs. Make them all tamed proof and increase the plat chance of every orc by x5 and see what happens, might even be fun, might even rp, might even make my whole damned piratey day
I bet it could be done by having them auto follow a leader orc Edit: be even better if these packs were red and killed any and all creatures that crossed their path, and expanding even more on this idea make the orc leader spawn another follower every 20-30 mins so the longer they are left unchecked the more powerful they become
now THAT would be awesome. a small horde rolling through the woods, after a day or so of not finding anyone, at the rate you mentioned they grow into a huge force and require a gruop of people to put down. Would be interesting and add some randomness to the game, never knowing when you might stumble across a roving horde of orcs
I once played a shard that had automated monster invasions into the towns, dread lords took over Brit East at one point. Was epic
Just a thought, but instead of banning tamed pets and such, maybe have a new type of orc that specializes in dealing bonus damage to pets, like an Orc Hunter or something.
I love the idea of monster invasions into towns! Gromm: "I need to get to my bank.. Let me recall to magincia" Gromm: *Kal Ort Por* Gromm: "OH WHAT THE F*^K.... Balrons?!?" Gromm: "oOOoooOoo"
I remember on the OSI shards quite some time ago there was a staged town invasion. I forget exactly how it worked, but there were multiple tiers of the invasion starting from north of the Britain Graveyard. Lizardmen, ogres, ettins, etc would spawn in the area. If left unchecked, the invasion stepped up into the next phase, which was in the graveyard itself, so those monsters would appear there. If left unchecked still, the monsters would invade the northern part of Britain, etc etc until they reached the southern end of Britain. Players had to fight against the hordes of invading monsters to "push back" the invasion. My guess was that for every x number of monsters killed, it regressed the invasion spawning a step, and if that number was not reached in a certain period of time the invasion progressed to the next step. Overall it was pretty fun and I enjoyed it.
Already very easy for the staff to make an anti-tamer mob type. Most, or all bosses already have a setting to take 1/2 - 1/4 damage from tames. If you added something like what @Alex Caember mentioned about pets taking increased damage from these orcs... I think it would be pretty awesome!
I personally feel that would be a better solution than straight up excluding tamer characters. It would encourage more diverse strategies, where dexxers could try to take out the orc hunters (or whatever they are called) so the tamers could concentrate on other things. To really be heinous, make them ranged-attack and also let them hide/stealth.
It's a shame we'll (myself included) rush to support NPC mob development catered to specific templates as opposed to just fixing what keeps some playstyles (see: *dexxers) from certain content (see: anything worthwhile). *a provocation / melee bard is excluded from this assessment. That's a bard, not a dexxer.
