All you need is fishing and magery to kill the very rare monster that may spawn with a MiB. They aren't locked, trapped, etc.. Item ID is very useful.
Personally on a TMap character I value the Item ID skill much higher than Fishing. I would try to separate the two if you can. Or bring a 3rd character. Being able to ID the whole chest is such a valuable tool to have so that you're not out there for an hour wanding the entire chest.
i guess i'm just looking to fish up the Tmaps myself and have alts around while doing em i have another character just yesterday GM item id so he's done
You don't fish up tmaps, you fish up MiBs. a TMapper decodes the TMap then heads to the designated area and digs it up from the earth. I'm assuming you have this mixed up, you could have just made a typo.
I was actually thinking they really are one in the same but maybe I'm wrong Both u dig up treasure and mobs spawn u disarm the trap after Lockpicking it collect your reward after its all said and done but Yes I see how MIB and Tmaps are different in that they have special icons that they represent So in reality I guess I'm looking to do both and having a provo/mage and a GM Item ID person along for the ride is great as well and maybe for shit and giggles I'll bring a few pack horses along as well
With MiBs: You obtain these by fishing and looting them off of sea serpents you fish up and kill. You don't need to decode MiBs, you just sail to the coordinates in the sea and have your fisher use fishing to fish them out of the water. After several tries a chest will get fished up and land either at your feet or in your pack (depending on weight). The chest is not locked or trapped. All you have to do is open it up, ID the loot, and sort. With TMaps: You obtain these off of monsters you kill as a rare drop. You need to have enough cartogrpahy skill to decode TMaps. Once decoded you can head to the location on the map and have your toon, using a shovel, dig the treasure chest out of the dirt. When the TMap spawns it will bring many monsters that vary on the difficulty (level) of the map. You have to use lockpicking to unlock the chest (except for lvl 1 maps). The chests will always be trapped so you need to use the Telekinesis spell to open the chest from a distance and avoid taking damage. Once the chest is safely opened you can ID the loot and sort. These two types of treasure hunting vary differently where you really only need a fisher with one whereas you'll need a full 7x template with the other.
