Hi there! I'm Froste. Played UO on Pac starting around Ren and going until they did the 3d monstrosity thing. Played on a few runuo shards, including Angel Island. I'm working on getting a foundation built. Anything I should know about the local scene?
Felluca based server, no Tram. Runebooks aren't blessed (unless you buy the platinum bless deed - end game reward) PK's WILL TAK ALL YOUR GOLD, expect them, expect them not to be nice. PvP is on and off with factions generally having the most action. There is still room for housing as large as a tower. Anything larger than a tower spot is already taken and comes at a premium. Tamers can have additional bond slots by completing the tamer quest. You have only one bonded slot out of the box. Any other Q's just ask here or in IRC. Fun thing to check out is the UOR guide.
Hail Froste! Good to see ya on the forums here! Lots of amazing things on this shard. Cynic covered most of the basics! I dont think the PKs here are mean though, many of them will kill you, steal what they need, and then rez/gate you out. Others things to know: The staff here is great, very involved with the players and they put on great events, especially during the holidays. The players here are great, and they too, put on player events on a regular basis that get hyped up pretty well. This is a amazing shard for tamers and crafters; lots of things set in place to make them fun and worth while. Barding is a pretty standard skill set to have on most PvE builds. Fun and easy to train. Platinum is a currency here that is used to buy novelty things. Champs spawns are great here and there are a few guild that run them regularly. Fishing has some special properties, the highest end being the ability to fish up Ancient Message in Bottles (AMIBS), which, when used, create an instanced mini-dungeon that is pretty tough, has great loot, and is generally awesome. There are 4 types of these. Also, I run the new player guild here called Project Sanctuary. If you are interested in getting on your feet here, we can help. Just PM me and we can meet up and chat. Welcome! ~Krake
Nice! Thanks for the welcome. Jareth already helped me out with a place to call home. I'll definitely check out Project Sanctuary and see what's happenin.
