Hi everybody I join yesterday and start traning my character, I'm hoping to create PvM Dexxer. For now I'm about to finish ;Anatomy (98), Swordmanship (87), Tattics (94), Healing (76) I want to make simple and easy to play build so I'm thinking GM this skills Anatomy Healing Tactics Swordmanship Lumberjack I need to choose 2 more skill but as I say just start here and dont know whic skill are usefull whic skill are not. So I'm open to suggestions (I prefer pure warrior without and magic)
You need music for Provo to work. Provo sets the monsters to attacking each other. As a new player Welcome!! Also might want to check out http://uorforum.com/threads/newbie-house-giveaway.36696/#post-354579,
@Mantus - Unrelated to your post but check out @Ragnar Lothbrok 's post here: http://uorforum.com/threads/newbie-house-giveaway.36696/#post-354579 He's giving away houses to new players right now and you would definitely qualify. Welcome and good luck!
Mantus, if dexxer PvM is your thing, then having bard skills is pretty helpful / near mandatory. This is because dexxers cannot mitigate easily the amount of damage most monsters worth hunting do back to you, even with Parry. Especially if they are casters. Peacemaking "stuns" the monster while Provoking makes two monsters fight each other. They both have their uses and their ups / downs. And as others have stated above, Musicianship is required for both of these. If you choose the bard route, plan on 200 skill points for Music and Peace/Provoke. I prefer provoking as it keeps two monsters fighting each other until one of them dies. The downside is, you need two monsters. Peacemaking is useful, but it has a greater chance to break the stun as the monster's life goes down, and with every whack from your weapon. I have many times had a Elder Gazer or Lich stunned, only to break, and land a hard melee hit followed immediately with a flamestrike. It's not fun. And according to Murphy's Law, once you start running, they always flamestrike you again If you choose Provocation, it is super easy to train while you are in the "Young" program. See my guide in my signature. Lastly, you might want to rethink your no-magery position. Many good monsters you will want to hunt are impossible to walk to, and recall is necessary to escape from murderers.
Just some mage think 30-40 if you use scrolls can get you away from PK's or where you want to hunt faster, it's a skill I try to squeeze in when I can
i would put peace... you will love.. is like a panic button when you see yourself in troubles... specially when you are new on shard and want to explore but doesnt knows exactly how much of damage every monsters give.. my first char was a parry sw with magery... was good but with a peacer i would explore more, died less and beated harder mobs
@Mantus I highly recommend going to www.uorenaissance.com And clicking the join irc button there on the left. Great way to have a discussion with other players in real time so you can ask further questions into why each recommendation has been made and truly learn. Also it’s a great way to find other players to go adventure with
@Mantus Some times the web client messes up if it does check this thread and post your problem in here http://uorforum.com/threads/irc-connection-guide.496/
