Welcome to the neighborhood. You can make a name for yourself by building up, or tearing down. Guess which works best in the long run.
I have found that what works best for me is to keep my customers happy by selling at a price they can afford, which also still gives me a very healthy profit. This worked well for me over the last 15 months on another well-known free shard, and for many years from 1997 on OSI's Atlantic and Siege Perilous shards. I plan to use the same philosophy here at Renaissance. But honestly... Why does a runebook, which costs about 80 gold to make (failures factored in), "have" to be sold here for 425 gold? Or a recall scroll, which costs 15 gold to make (cannot fail) which is advertised here for at least 37.5 gold with some shopping around? I better not tell you that I sell resurrection scrolls at cost on that other shard! I don't know yet if I will be making this shard my new home, but time will tell. While I am here, however, I will try to make a difference. Fireball.
