I was shopping around for a UO server to play and stumbled across UOR. Much like Diablo 2, I go back and play UO at least once a year for nostalgia's sake. Reddit referred me to UOF and UOR, and from what I read, UOR sound like a better fit for me. I originally played on Great Lakes back in 2000-2003, as well as Abyss Test and some Siege Perilous. I have played numerous player run servers, including IPY, An Corp, and UOGamers. I have 3 characters currently leveling up: a lumberdexer, fencing thief, and stun mage. I'm trying to get my guild to come but they're currently hooked on Archeage. I don't need handouts, as I am familiar with how to be self sufficient on a player run server, but did have some basic questions: 1) Can you raise LJ past 56.3 sparring? I seem to have hit a barrier, and want to avoid chopping trees. I seem to recall being able to hire an NPC and raise it off of them, but I thought I would ask before wasting my time. 2) Can you recall inside of dungeons? 3) Can you recall while attacking/being attacked if you are not interrupted? 4) Is there an escort cap? Meaning can I escort back-to-back without an escort delay? I appreciate any answers/feedback and look forward to playing with you guys in the future!
I can answer a couple of these. 2) yes, you can recall inside dungeons 3) you can recall while BEING attacked if you don't get interrupted. If you are the aggressor, you cannot recall for...i think 2 minutes 4) there is a 1 minute delay between escorts (which isn't bad...most times, by the time I've found the next one to escort, the minute is up and i can escort right away)
actually you can recall at any given moment, the only thing that will stop you from recalling is being a criminal. you can literally start the fight, and recall away. (which needs to be fixed.)
Welcome, Lando. New here also, everyone is very helpful! kane....what if you spar a lj with a higher lj skill than you? Still no gain and need to whack trees? I never even knew you COULD gain LJ sparring...always whacked trees lol
I'm at work.... and all I can think about is how much I want to come home and play UO. I missed this feeling.
I'm aware of the CTF events, but was wondering if there was anything else going on this week? I now have a 7x thief, mage, and 6xLJ that's almost done with his resist. I have a large brick house as well, so I'm at the point where I want to play and enjoy the game with the community. I know Krake had some type of quest expedition recently, but it was too late in the evening for me to participate. I come into chat every other day, but there never seems to be a group challenge or anything going on for the most part. So I was wondering, are there any guilds or groups doing any PvE/PvP this week? Interested in getting more involved
Help me find this bad boy and I promise an event will soon follow! Also, the same faction has dominated town ownership for months now. Consider perhaps joining a faction with one or both of your characters.
Most things are pretty spontaneous, like me doing treasure hunts with the guild or heading off to an adventure with Village of Paws. It's out and about but you'll find more if you make more, that's for sure. Most folks are adults with real lives so finding constant regulars ready to put the actual work into gatherings and events is not as common as it was in era. I'm sure if you call attention you can get enough folks rallied up for a champion spawn. You'll have to be patient though and figure out what times work for at least a handful of people and then go run it.
