I was thinking about placing a house on Ocllo island for the new folks to gain 100% in all combats.

For all the folks with experience running fun events/freesist events leave ya commennts on how this would be possible with a 1 room on Ocllo Island.

The only thing you really need to train combat skills is someone to spar with and a ton of bandages. There is currently a program run by one of the players who lends a fully furnished small tower to new players in order to have a protected area to train in. I believe it is Gideon but I am not 100% sure.

If you want to set up something like a "Provoking House" deal for combat training, you will want someone with 100 STR just chilling in the hut as a training dummy and you would want to provide bandages. The new player equips a fast low dps weapon and starts beating on the Dummy Character and sets up a macro to use bandages on that target every 5 seconds. By the time they get to 85 healing they should be maxed out Weapon Skill, Tactics, and Anatomy. Then they can kill the dummy and increase the length of the macro to 9 seconds to attempt to resurrect. That will GM healing. I haven't tried parrying here, but I am sure you can GM if you get a bunch of critters to attack you and leave your char healing itself periodically while swapping shields after they break.

But I still think providing new players with the space is all you really need to do because you are allowed 3 accounts per IP on at any time so you can always create a training dummy for yourself. When I started, my initial problem was raising gold to buy the aids needed to set up macros with low skills. But I am not going to lie, for me that's part of the experience of settling into a new shard.
