Have made a couple posts so far but wanted to Officially say hello and to Thank the people of UOR. I did not realize how much I have missed playing UO. I originally started playing about 6 months after launch and have come back to UO over every other MMO I have played. Something about it just strikes a cord with me. anyway, Thanks. Following a lot of advice on these forums I started off with a Provocation Bard and I do really well killing Earth Elementals and Ettins in Despise but Im looking for other places to hunt and any suggestions would be a great help. I also need some advice on how to raise my provocation above 70 (finished up at the Moonglow Zoo last night.) I tried some of the pirates in Ocllo but had zero luck getting provocation to work and ended up either fleeing 4 or 5 pirates or killing them 1 or 2 on one. Any suggestions would be great.
Keep at it in the dungeons! Don't macro your way! Move on to those cyclops and titans one level down!
Hey Orcus, welcome back to UO and welcome to the shard! I've never done provo so I can't speak to that but if it were me, I'd probably do as Plankton suggests and just try to move a little deeper into the dungeon. I'm sure you'll get more answers soon enough, though.
I've got GM instruments for sale on my vendor (small tower one screen north of brit gate). Provo house is on Ocllo, unless that's changed since I last played..I forget who has the ability to let you in though.

I'll add my welcome. I feel you will really like it here. I can't address the issue on raising provoke as when i G.M. it, was early days of this server. Population lower. I did gm on Artic Orge Lords, and yes, even back than got pked some.

Hiya and welcome to UOR! Message me on IRC as wylwrk if you'd like some help with provocation, or anything else for that matter. FYI... you'll want your skill just a tad bit higher for the pirates in Occlo. What's misleading is that there's a couple of varieties of pirates there with different "barding difficulty". I suggest trying those at around 74-75 provocation with NPC made instruments if doing some unattended macroing. If attended and PvMing it up for some fun, GM instruments as previously suggested. Swap out to NPC made @ 94 real (shown) skill. G'luck!
