No. You have 15 slots, you can have one of each. I have a tamer/bard, a mage/bard, a tmapper/bard and a dexxer/bard.
Provocation is great on a tamer for crowd control. Discordance is great on a tamer for lowering the stats/skills of a bigger boss critter like an elder wyrm. Peacemaking.....I find it more a melee toon's skill. However I do keep a full bard mage as a rescue toon just in case I get killed while farming. As for converting the bard.....those skills train easy, I'd start a tamer fresh with 50 taming and 50 magery as that grind can be painful lol
Oh wait, almost forgot my event guy: Tracker/mage/bard That guy is played pretty much non-stop from november (Thanksgiving) through Easter.
Yes, hell yeah, I totally forgot about this.... It wasn't my first tamer, nor my second, maybe my third I think that had tracking after I dropped cartography. So amazingly handy to search down pets for tamer quest scrolls, and of course, event spawn!
Magery/Med/wrestling/anatomy/resist/animal taming/lore I was using one mare and I had a macro after I landed a stun punch that would drop my pre casted explosion all kill the target and ebolt the target with one fully trained mare you melt people
Certainly true, however with 15 slots, you can go wild and have many variants of the same core (magery/music/provo) to have fun with any of them.
Best template is hiding and herding setup about 10 of these herding all of the dragons/drakes in destard to the entrance
I have a tamer but still play my other characters even when it's not as profitable. Grinding mobs on a tamer gets boring after awhile.
I actually like to convert my tamer's "minor" skills on the fly. I personally find building, equipping, and swapping between multiple characters to be annoying. To the point that I'll swap out things like Meditation for Fencing when I plan to do AMIBs, or Musicianship for Tracking during Easter.
