For those of you who know where my houses are (on the edge of brit farms somewhat to the left and above the Brit Gate) I have made the large marble on the edge of the mountain public and put a forge/anvil and a chest on the porch. Feel free to use the chest to store extra tools or ore or ingots or whatever while you mine. The house is on the gz line, so if you are mining the area and are in peril then it's just a short dash to protection.
Anyone who wants to can be friended to the marble, I'm not sure what would make a good public forge other than a forge (of course) a couple of containers and friending. Maybe deco. But the house is on the mountain/brit gz and a short run to town and the gate. Just shoot a pm to me in irc if you want your crafter added to the house list.
on jack, but I have a mountain house perfect for mining that I'm going to let sit there, it's the only thing I can think to do with it other than make it a crap storage house
