Hello I am new here and have not played UO for ~10 years but one thing I remembered and confirmed recently is that with high Dex healing speed self/other would be faster. With 100 dex it's supposed to take 6 seconds on self.

Here self healing takes 10 seconds whether I have 100 dex or 30 dex. Is this intended ? Somewhat diminishes value of dexterity.

Is it just a bug perhaps? Healing on others is also slower with 100 dex than it should be.

    Anyone knows if it's intended?

Also my healing skill seems to go really slow even when healing other damaged character constantly. Normal or am I doing something wrong?

I GMed healing in no time just healing my mage. I think you could probably speed that up by healing poison at 80+, and maybe trying to rez a ghost (who then cancels) after like 90. I am positive you can GM it simply by doing the magical wizard hat trick and going through a lot of bandies.

I think 6 sec seems fast. I think 10 secs is about right, but my memory sucks and I'm old.

Right now I have my mage raise wrestling, eval int, meditation, anatomy while my fighter is healing him all the time (it's faster)

Still, why does healing take 10 seconds with 100 dex when it should be normally 6 seconds? Healing other person with 100 dex should also be iirc 2 seconds or 3 tops and it's 4 atm.

Is that intended or an oversight?

I set Dex 100, healing 65 ana 75 0 interruptions. Says 6sec to self heal 3 sec to heal another.

With dex changed to 35 it shows 10sec to self and 4sec to another.

Right now it's 10sec self regardless of dexterity.

Dexterity does affect healing, if I recall correctly every 10 points in dex reduces the timer by 0.5 seconds. The base healing time is something like 16 seconds.

The stratics figures that you are looking at are from AoS iirc, they are when powerscrolls were introduced and when anatomy effected healing.

Yeah but I gave values for non PS skill levels. And I remember it also being quicker pre-aos. That's why i asked :).

And well, as mentioned I have 2 characters next to each other. 1 with 100 dex and 2nd with 35 dex. Both take 10sec to heal. Which is odd because it diminishes dex value quite a bit it seems.

My hunch is that it is:

(I think that's RunUO default; I can't test right now)

    This would mean...
    ...at 120 dex, 9.4 seconds
    ...at 100 dex, 10.6 seconds
    ...at 50 dex, 13.8 seconds
    ...at 25 dex, 15.1 seconds

I should have been more clear, the changes to healing happened around the time of powerscrolls (AOS), which was to compete with other skills coming out (Paladins/Necro etc). I did not mean that the powerscroll adjusted values were factored in.

In the May 25 1999 patch notes it states that:
Healing someone else now takes 5 seconds. Healing yourself still takes 15 seconds.

My understanding is that we are currently using these timers, I actually did a quick test with two of my characters (85dex vs 25dex) and they seemed to indicate that our formulas are correct:

I may be a few seconds off, but it does look like dex is being factored in correctly, I'm actually quite curious how your character with 35 dex is getting 10 sec heals!

    Hax!
