Hey all, So I raised lock picking to 95 real skill, and then GM'd Detect Hidden, which I'm told grants you 5 bonus skill points in lock picking. My lock picking skill still shows 95... I guess I was expecting those 5 points to show up in shown skill. Are the 5 points just there unseen and I can pick lvl 5 chests now? Thanks in advance!
DH doesn't show the points in LP. If you have 95 real LP and 100 detect hidden you effectively have GM LP.
It's still not correct, shopshopshop. 1) GM LP doesnt give you 100% success on lvl4 dungeon chests. but 2) DH doesnt change the success of LP. It just decreases the hardcoded requirement of real skill 95.0 LP for lvl4 chests by 1.0 per each 20skillpoints in DH. DH does not increase the LP value or success rates in any kind. It's just affecting the barrier with which you can start lvl4s. 3) This means DH has no benefits for lockpicking once yout real LP value is above 95.0.
you need 100 real LP to open, i believe, L5 treasure map chests, probably L6 also. if you have 95 real LP, and 0 detect hidden, you can't open these treasure chests. if you have 95 real LP + GM detect hidden, you can open them. dh = LP at a rate of 20/DH value so 100 DH = 5% LP so with 95 real LP + gm DH you effectively have GM LP reasonably certain this is how it works, but i have GM LP so can't test it
