Question regarding Young status: NPC Escort wants to be escorted another location - not occlo

I dont know if somebody asked this already. If yes I am sorry for another post about that topic. But im not sure if the mechanic is working as intended. If yes I am okay with that. Just wanted to share my experience and maybe bring the attention to this bug(?).

Today I tried to escort npcs from event camps in occlo as a young player. I managed to get the first one but as I accepted the escort he suddenly wanted me to bring him to another city. I asked in guild chat for help. As I released the escort npc he immediatelly changed the location to occlo and i was able to escort the npc again and get the reward.

Second time: I accepted the escort and he wanted to get to another location (not occlo). This time I wasn't able to accept the escort once I released him. ( I thin this was my own fault because of the timer between escorts).

Third time: I released the npc and took him again. ( You can see this time a screenshot). He said lead me to magincia but then disappeared.


My questions is: Is it correct that the npcs want to be escorted to other locations and not to occlo? On the one hand I could understand if this is working as intended because otherwise everybody would perhaps simply bring these npcs to the close city occlo. On the other hand I am asking myself if this is working as inteded because this would exclude youngs from the event?

I had this happen to me a few times on Ocllo as a Young player a while ago too, and I eventually realized what I had done was say "I will take thee" BEFORE I had "released" the NPC from the shackles. When I had done that, the NPC would want to be taken to a non-Occlo city. After wandering around with this idiot NPC in tow, and asking "destination" multiple times in hopes to get Ocllo as an answer, the last time this had happened to me, I double-clicked on the NPC (out of frustration). That seemed to release the NPC from the shackles (which were screens away at this point), and suddenly the NPC wanted to be taken to Occlo. And all was right in the escort world. I don't know if this is what is happening to you (I see you said the third time you had released the NPC, and Magincia was the destination), but you might want to try it, if it happens again.
