Summer 2001 savages were introduced with the new orcs (scouts, bombers) as well as the associated orcish items (mask of orcish kin, orcish bow.) Personally, I think the savages look foolish so I wouldn't really care to actually see them in game. I'm not opposed to the added items as long as they're not detrimental to balance, however. They're comparable to the orcish bows in usefulness (low durability, can't be smelted.) Given our current system for mask dyes the colored tribal masks found as loot on savages may not be appropriate for UOR. However, they are mentioned in the Rennaisance future project list as so: The ethereal mounts have been added as platinum rewards but changes have been made pertaining to summoning. *cough* Nerf *cough* From Patch 37: This doesn't seem to suggest that we need bolas as a balancing factor as ethereal mounts have been relegated to little more than a deco item (sorry stealthers :cry: ). It should be noted that actual mounts recently recieved a bit of a nerf recently, as well. From Patch 43: On the upside for bolas, pet summoning balls only summoning bonded ghosts would prevent a new age of stealth-bola-tamers like we saw in era and it would likely draw back the orcs and some stealth afficianados. They'd also give tinkers something to do other than try desperately to sell their massive pile of lockpicks. . .
I would love to see the Savages...I used to love hunting them and collecting their masks. Yes I know not ALL of the hues should be available via the masks...but I'm sure SOME could be considered? Maybe even make them un-blessable? (if thats possible)
Yes you are right the server already has a system regarding tribal masks. However, there are savages that do not wear their masks and those could be added instead. Fortunately, that is also why I did not mention them firstly. What I find most important are the four things I mentioned. You are right though tribal spears much like the orcish bow would not twink the current system. I don't believe that tribal mask wearing savages would need to drop the masks as loot. I also forgot that ridgebacks came along with the savages. I would hope these wouldn't be introduced if the savages were. I would like to see some more mounted mobs, though. . . Just for variety, ya know? No reason savages couldn't just ride ostards.
Weren't the new orcs and tribals part of the precursor event to the launch of the 3rd dawn expansion?
