Server Status - 4-14-2017 - New Server Connection Info

    We are now live on the new server.

    To access the new server update razor to point to play.uorenaissance.com as shown in the image below. If that gives you trouble connecting then try to use the direct IP address. 199.59.161.94

    If you cannot find this screen it is because your razor splash screen is disabled. Attempt to connect to the server and look for the "Show Welcome Screen" checkbox. Check that then close razor and you will now see the screen where you can adjust the server name.

    By tomorrow (Friday) everything should be back to normal with whatever server setting you are using.

    Pinged about 350 the day before yesterday, but it was still possible to train taming.

    If you could perhaps move the server back to the east coast, that would be really nice! And if the server were to move to Europe that would be very very nice, hehe :D

    Thx for the good work so far! Although I am still macroing most of the time, I have blast playing on this shard!

    Moving servers incurs an expense... please include that in your future server relocation recommendations.

    Update: After some extended talks with the host they have approved giving us a new server, on a new rack, connected to a new switch so they can look into this issue more. We will have the new server today/monday and will migrate to it as soon as possible. We will update regarding any downtime that you can expect in this thread.

    This could be related to this issue, it would result in high ping spikes. It won't have any effect on the overall ping but if we can resolve this is will result in a more smooth connection.

    The staff has also been researching the viability of expanding Renaissance into Europe at some point once we finish the implementation of our new shard support system which will allow for much more extensive shard advertising and the financial base to support 2 servers and an active playerbase twice the size of what we have now. This is not a definitive plan at the moment, but we have been looking into the logistics of how to accomplish this for about a year.

    Note: The staff will never expand to a second server if it comes at the cost of splitting our playerbase in half.

    Update 4-13-17: Our new server is ready and the plan is to migrate to it on 4-14 or 4-15. More details to be posted here soon.

    Good news. I jumped on and tried playing a bit this last weekend and my ping continually spiked to 600 every few seconds. Hopefully this resolves it!

    The server switch will take place at 1am est on 4-14-17. To access the new server you can use play.uorenaissance.com or the direct IP address 199.59.161.94

    Before: 200-240ms
    Now: 197-199 ms

    Average Ping is 160 right now from Toronto. Sorry not sure what it was prior to switch, BUT it is running a hell of a lot smoother at the moment. I am cautiously very optimistic at the moment.
