Special Fishing Nets - Fishing required

Do the special fishing nets require you to have 100 fishing in order to receive any good loot? (mibs, big fish, amib) And what if i have an alt on board with me helping me out with the spawning mobs? If he kills the final blow to the mob, will I still have a chance to get loot?

Fishing skill does not have any interaction with throwing nets. Having alts on board is fine. All loot is found on the corpses (with the exception of platinum drops from the Loch Ness Monster - that goes straight to the killing player's backpack)

Here are the things you can get from throwing a net:

• 1 to 3 sea serpents, with nothing but gold and a few regs on them
• A Kraken (about a 1 in 5 chance, click link to see loot possibilities)
• A Lock Lake Monster (about a 1 in 20 chance, click link to see loot possibilities)
• An undead pirate ship, with a Shipwreck Kraken guarding it, holding an AMIB. You can board the pirate ship. There will be someone to rescue on board and 2 'bandit loot' chests to sift through as well. (about a 1 in 40 chance)

Here are the things you can get from just straight up fishing:

• A Sea Serpent holding a level 1 map
• A Sea Serpent holding a special fishing net
• A Sea Serpent holding a big fish

• A Shipwreck Kraken holding an AMIB (rare)
• Fish
• Boots, Sandals, Shoes (currently disabled)

One more question:
From what I understand, the color of the special fishing nets have no effect on what mobs/loot spawn from using them. Is this correct?

They require you to be Basoosh in order to get anything good.

This is why I sell all of mine to him.

That's correct, don't use the special hue ones, they are rare.

Currently you can't pull up shoes or boots as people were exploiting that to gather leather.
