I am confused as to why my toon doesn't stealth from hidden? I have to manually click stealth after ten seconds of using the hidden skill. I thought when you hid, it would do a stealth check once you moved? Or is the way it's set up now era-specific?

    Era-specific.

The way it works here is my only recollection of how it ever worked. I'd be in favor of that change though...

I recall it always being you hide, then once you use stealth, it begins counting the steps you take.

I'm glad this is being addressed because I was just contemplating making a stealth fencer.

:/ That kinds stinks. I like being able to hide and then stealth away from pker's. But I guess hiding and then waiting ten seconds (While hoping they don't throw an explosion pot in my direction) and then stealthing away works too! :)

Cast Invisibility, target yourself, and begin stealthing away. You'll need to actually hide before the 2 minute Invis timer is up, else you'll be revealed, but you should be safe by then.

In fact, with the nerf to Tracking here (it is less functional against people with Hiding and Stealth, especially if they are hidden), sneakers don't have it too bad.

Is there a good guide on how to raise stealth? The one here is confusing to me (Stealth and keep adding layers of clothing? I dont understand that). Maybe a guide with really really newbie specific details?

Wow, for some reason it never crossed my mind that one could fully use stealth without needing any hiding skill.

That is incorrect. He was just saying that's a good way to pull it off in a pinch, I think.

You cannot learn Stealth until you have at least 80 Hiding I think, so that's mandatory. Not sure if you can drop it later and retain full use of Stealth.

I would be in favor of Stealth working automatically as soon as you hide, but not for Invis. You'd have to successfully hide before actively stealthing.

Invis --> Stealth is how you probably want to do it 99% of the time you're on screen with people who can see you. You'll get about 10 chances to activate Stealth and take 10 steps each time before the Invis wears off and reveals you. Just Hiding and waiting 10 seconds to stealth away is probably not going to get you very far.

That in turn means, there should be a viable Invis Scroll market existing. Somebody selling them?

SE corner of Yew Bank. Vendors with every individual scroll, ready to go. Worst case, I can make one for you.

Edit: Now answer my poisoning question in the other thread, hush hush. o_O

I just went onto test and tried the 100 stealth 0 hiding thing.

At 79.9% or less you get the message "You need to get better at hiding." 80% or more works like normal.

That's another thing, I thought it was 80 skill to train it but a minimum of 30 to use it... So once you got to 80 you could train stealth up and then drop hiding to 30. But meh, I just used to it to hunt. I run a stealth mage provoker, that is great for money making pvm, but I can surely adapt! :)
