I’ve started a tamer mage, but I’m having trouble decidinf between Wrestling or Resist Spells in the build. The other option I guess would be to drop Eval: Current plan, 7x GM: Animal Taming Animal Lore Veterinary Magery Eval Meditation Wrestling or Resist Spells Any suggestions?
This a PvP tamer or PvM tamer? If PvP, resist. If PvM drop eval and wrestling/resist for music and provo. If you want to PvM hard core and go through hunting spots fast, then drop med for disco.
Honestly I had planned to ultimately do both. Maybe I should go PVM first and then change over once I’ve made the money?
You will need 2 tamers if you want to both PvP and PvM on a tamer. FWIW, in my opinion tamer PvP is not very rewarding and I think there are other builds that suit PvP better. That being said nothing wrong with it if you want to do it. Most of the skills can be swapped out with a small amount of macroing. Resisting spells is a bitch...major bitch. You will need to wait for resist events like the 1 this weekend in order to GM it.
Great! I’ll focus on PVM for now, PVP later. I think I’d rather learn to control dragons properly against monsters rather than players.
I wouldn't say that a PVP build cant PVM. I have found that I not only feel safer while hunting but possibly easier taming things like dragons with Resist and Eval. I use the following template: Animal Taming Animal Lore Vet Magery Med Eval Resist P.S. I have have a provo tamer and a disco tamer.
My favorite PvM tamer to play runs this build: taming lore vet magery med hiding itemid I like playing "on the side" so I look away from my monitor a lot. So hiding is very useful be it banking, or waiting for something to die, etc. then i just toss the loot in a bag and ID it on the fly since you can ID a bag and it identifies everything. im impatient so i like knowing what i pick up ASAP, and i dont want to mess with managing Item ID wands.

This one is my favorite. Good for looking for mares, holiday events, hunting zookeeper animals, and just fine for regular farming. You really don't need eval or resist for anything.
I actually made this exact template for thanksgiving overland spawn and it is awesome. I also use it to search for mares and zookeeper animals.
