I’m planning on creating a melee character that has the capability of taking on magic casting mobs. I know you’ll probably say make a tamer dexer or provo dexer.. but I want this character to be more of a challenge and have some rp aspect to it. The template I’m considering is: LJ Swords Tactics Anatomy Resist My last two are up in the air. My question is, if I got eval, would that lessen the damage I would take from say a fire breath from a dragon or take less poison damage from a dread spider? If that is the case, then I may choose eval and healing. If it doesn’t help, would I be better off going Margery med so I can bless or prot. Or would there be a good balance of eval/Margery/med. I wouldn’t do healing if I put more than 50 points into magery. Ohh, a though that just occurred to me as well.. if I were to take poisoning as one, I wouldn’t get hit with a ton of spells anyway. I could do poisoning and healing. But then I wouldn’t need LJ Thoughts?
You will need some form of healing, either healing or magery. without bard skills magery may be more useful for magic reflect and heals. You could save some skill points by planning on using scrolls for bless/reflect and wands/potions for healing. Archery is also a consideration so that you can do some damage while kiting then finish with your axe. If you arent planning on gathering wood with this char, consider macing. War hammers do great damage and stam drain. Eval doesnt give any bonus like the one you mentioned.
Add healing and wrestling. Last I checked stun-punch will delay a mobs casting by a second or two. Would give you small breaks to catch up with heals and do a little free damage.
