Earlier just chatting with Westra about housing and we got into the subject of what if towers, keeps and castles could be built with different material than gray stone? This could possibly be a huuuuuuuge gold sink, if it were possible. I'm not talking about manually changing tiles or custom housing. This also wouldn't need to be incorporated right away, but sometime in the future. This option could be accessed through the house sign by the front door. There would be a button for renovation and it takes the gold right out of your bank account. A few options we thought about were: Sand stone Marble Shadow stone (haunted house) Wood (like orc fort or Papua?) (keep/castle only) Pricing could be in increments of 500k or 1 mil gold (or more). You can skip sand stone and go straight to marble, but to go to sand stone from marble will still cost 1 mil, to go from sand stone back to previously purchased marble or original would be 250k gold. Example: Sand stone - 1,000,000 Marble - 2,000,000 Shadow stone - 3,000,000 Wood - 4,000,000 Not sure if this is possible, but it sounds fun.
Think Towers, both Keeps and Fortress as well as castles would be great for these upgrades. And I agree, Although they are fun to work with, not sure if the custom houses( one's players build tile by tile) is right for UOR, or even legal for free shards. But a option to transform existing structure to one of the other materials would be awesome. This would also be a nice way to "balance ecconomy".
This is a great idea. I can see how it could take a lot of manual work to implement, but it would give veteran players something to shoot for.
