After a bit of urging from the players, the staff here has graciously constructed this lovely arena for all to use, just outside the northwest borders of Moonglow! There are some rules to the arena, but mostly it will require an honor system between users to avoid grief. Line of Sight from the surrounding area has been restricted to ONLY the viewing area (benches) so outside interference is limited. I will list the rules here, as I understand them, and update as needed if more information comes to light: 1: No Teleport into or within the arena 2: No Summon spells within the arena 3: No Recall/Gate spells within the arena Please come down and bring your friends for some good old fashioned duelling in this lovely water side arena! HAIL UO:RENAISSANCE!!!
Or people. Seriously, screw the lost lands. If the pit were there, you'd hardly ever see me there and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that opinion. I go there for training bard skills on wyverns, taming nightmares and getting into Kaldhun. I have no other reason to waste time in that horrendously warped z-axis landscape. Moonglow is a common hangout for many UO players and is easily accessed via moongate. I don't personally own the tower but at least it's a public building and a really well decorated rune library. For what its worth I asked about getting a duelling pit in A^T guild town (Land of OoO) some time back and it was mostly an order of where it could be placed that wasn't land hoarding, blocking or favoritism. I suggested this location because it was not in/near anyone's guild town. But hey, you can't make everyone happy all the time.
I was thinking of something. Maybe like a blue npc in the corner that you can't kill but flag on, so you can go grey before the fight. Stop people from accidently counting (or on purpose).
Well you can make certain areas no-count zones, so I don't see this being too far from possible. Good idea.
We can look into adding a region adjustment for this, I don't think one exists currently that would accomplish this. It would have to be limited to the dueling area itself, and players would be given a message that they could be killed without consequence within the confines of the arena.
