Correct, unless you lore them before they aggro or well after they've calmed down from it, you won't get an accurate check. When I was last taming WWs and cherry picking, I'd 'pre-cast' animal lore and run up to target them before they attack me. If they didn't have 125 Dex or higher, I'd kill them.
Even though this is a trade post I have been wondering about dragon stats, so I would like to chime in and express my opinion from what I've been told and info I've gathered on my own and get some opinions and hopefully shed some light on this subject. Dexterity is by far the most crucial stat since it affects the speed your dragon attacks and has the greatest overall affect on a dragons damage output and efficiency. Hit points are crucial for staying alive and fire breath damage. Other stats, not so important. Quoting the "Guide to Rule Them All" concerning player attributes: "Strength: Determines Max Health. Max Health = 50 + ( strength / 2 ). Strength also grants a bonus to weapon damage. Str *(.2) = % bonus to combat effectiveness. Dexterity: Determines Max Stamina. Current stamina determines bonus to attack speed: SwingLatency = 15000 / {[STAM+100] * WepSpeed}. Intelligence: Determines max mana and is a factor in some spell damage formulas." Based on the website www.tamingarchive.com dragons have an attack damage (weapon damage) of 16-22. Using the strength formula, a dragon with 825 STR does max damage 58 where a dragon with 800 STR does 57 max damage, for example. Its possible Intelligence may affect spell damage, but how often do dragons run out of mana? If anyone has a differing opinion or can direct me to the correct forum thread to discuss this, please comment.
