You fall deeply in love with AND have your heart broken by someone you met through being pked by them!
When you confuse your work's acronym VoP with a player run town you may or may not have been involved in. My work uses Vendor on premises as a regular acronym. Makes me think of UO midday so I usually come check the forums.
I have dreams I'm playing UO and just like the dreams in cars I can't work the controls right. Can't seem to pull the trigger or work the buttons right.
When you assume every car gets checked by every passerby and robbed of all useful items if left unlocked.
when you get half way to work and have to come back because you may have forgotten to lock the front door... to your fortress.
The night Rex robbed my house of roughly 100 Gargoyle Pick Axes I stopped at a convenient store to grab cigs. I was upset because it wasn't actually my house so I didn't know if anything else of value had gone missing that I didn't know about. My first thought when I got back to the car was "oh great you left the car unlocked you moron, now that's gonna be emptied out of anything useful too!!!!" I had that whole "acceptance of loss sinking feeling" before I realized it was not OK to steal people's stuff right here right now.
When you hand-write a nice notebook of what your finalized end game requirements should be: List of all 15 Characters Their Skills Their Names Their Associations Their Role-playing Attitudes List of Vendors and Inventory List of Properties List of Necessary Items Runes to all locations you could ever want... In each character's Bank. Also, you want to play UO first thing on Christmas Morning unless of course you have stayed up all night anyway. Your girlfriend or wife has left you because when she tries to speak with you you are too distracted in IRC with someone else.
You lockdown the cereal in your house so the kids won't eat it. Also, every time I see a kryss on TV or IRL I think of UO...
You have to secure the cereal box and set it to Adults. If it's just locked down they won't be able to move it but they'll put their grubby little hands in there and devour all the contents.
