First of all: This is an amazing piece of work! Thank you very much! And then here's my question about slayer weapons... Why does Earth Shatter have a bigger modifier than Elemental Ban? Shouldn't the Super Slayer be more valuable than the sub group? Or is there something like a bonus to sub groups because they are more effective?
I should add that clearly I haven't kept this up to date with prices but the bottom line is that it is always good to check item counts and get a sense for quantity and future rarity before buying/selling.
I came across this post when looking for some guidance to magic weapon pricing. Its a good guide for a rough estimate and to make the process easier for everyone I made an excel sheet to easily figure out item pricing. Ill lay out a step by step guide for it. Later I do intend on improving it somewhat. 1. - Value can be changed to change to value of the whole tier of weapons 2. - Put a 1 by the weapon you wish to calculate 3. - Put a one on a prefix, suffix, slayer, and/or durability the weapon has.. 4. - And the bottom gives you a total The multipliers can be manipulated by changing the Multi values at anytime. I hope this helps out some, obviously market prices changes and items are only worth what consumers are willing to pay, but this helps out price things out. I have updated it since to add in a crafting calculator that I use and an alchemy calculator as well. I plan on adding in a calculator for inscription later. This is all just to help myself calculate the cost of crafting when I go to set up my vendor store but I figured it might help others as well. Side note, on the calculators there is a success chance and failure tax that I put it that is just there to try to figure out the offset in price for losing materials due to failures.
Those weapon prices come out pretty high in my opinion. Back when I had vendors, I continually tracked what sold at what price and adjusted my formulas to match. After about 6 months of adjustments, I came up with a pretty good understanding of how much people are willing to spend on non-slayer weapons.
Not looking to resurrect this thread, but to highlight an updated version I've been working on: http://uorforum.com/threads/pc-on-uortrade-price-check-script.27158 You can use !pc to search for item and magic weapon prices. The work is based on the old !pc script created by DarkWing, and builds on the information and ideas introduced in this thread.
