No buy-ins folks, just come and try your hand. This event is hosted by and paid for by The Sosarian Legion. There will be a "King of the Hill" style chess tournament going on through out the day. He who wins the most games consecutively will be crowned the champ. Winner remains in the chair to await a new challenger, loser cannot re-challenge until 1 new game passes. Being dethroned resets your consecutive count. However, the highest number of wins you obtain in a row will be your score. (Example: John wins 10 games, James beats John. John's current high score is 10. John gets the throne back, and wins 9 games, John's score is still 10, because that is the most wins John ever got consecutively.) Grand prize is 25K Gold. The champion will be announced in a post on the forum, along with the wins leader board. This event will start at 2 PM Eastern Standard Time and end at 7 PM Eastern Standard Time 5/5/2018 (Saturday). Come on down to the docks of ocllo!
I am working on a solid method to record the games. (Already have software, just getting things the way I want them...) (3 players should be able to view the board at once right?) I am also setting up a macro to reset the board at the end of each game (because damn having to manually drag all the pieces back each time). If this goes well, you can look forward to higher stake and different style tournaments in the future.
1 1/2 hours until we kick this off. Macros and recording are ready to roll. Come on down for a chance to win 25K; first come first serve on playing. Winner stays in the hot seat, loser can try again shortly.
@Fenris Corp Im not certain if you have seen info regarding the old league however here is the post Thought you would find interesting and perhaps farm an idea http://uorforum.com/threads/rook-and-stones-official-chess-league.2601/
No not for a long time There were scrolls also awarded that said "Zyler won a fair chess match against Liberation" when you won Unfortunately the scrolls were accidentally deleted in a patch We played on the big chess board in Nuj but there ended up being an issue with some of the coding and it was disabled Was pretty cool I think there is a chessboard set up on test but not sure if active
that's weird.. i must have missed a row of copy paste. Ocllo Tavern (see pic on initial post). sorry everyone.
Thanks to everyone who came out. The results of the event were inconclusive due to lack of games played. This has been an excellent learning experience. I have taken note of a lot of things i can do better in future events. You can look forward to more events in the future (even aside from chess).
