@Chris, that last NoH event was incredible fun! This would huge for the server if something like this gets implemented with some frequency vs. just holidays!
If the idea goes over well there are plans to have a similar summer event to make up for the lack of pesky american holidays during the summer. More in the style of the new dungeon rather than the current Night of Horrors. Hey now, We spent more time developing the new Pvp event than I did on the existing NoH. So Shhhhh!
new dungeon is awesome. spent a good amount of hours today in there. Very nice surprise this year @Chris !
Great work @Chris . Only one complaint - monster statues are 11 stones?! Come on... tried to steal a poltergeist one tonight - too heavy. Seems a bit lame considering they can exit the instance on demand of they're that concerned about losing it... Oy.
I think they are 20 stones by either RunUO default, or me changing it years ago for the reward store. It was a trade off as OSI blessed every one of them I believe. I don't mind looking into it however. My main concern is that things people purchase as a reward have some protection.

Ah, understood. I get it. I just didn't think it was commensurate with the goal of a free for all Felucca rule set NoH event. However, I trust your judgement on whatever you think it right in this situation -- let us know what you decide!
That change was to defeat the common bank scams where you initiated a trade, get a last target on the item and then canceled the trade for an easy steal. An extremely common scam around holidays and mostly targeting new players trying to sell items. It is only applied in that one instance. No others. As the player trying to sell the item needs a brief moment to determine where in his backpack that item fell to place it back in the bank. The thief doesn't have this restriction as they just set a target for the item. Players have worked with the staff over the years to slowly remove blessed tags where they should not be, etc. However in this situation all monster statues are a single item. And if I made them varying weights a player might see a dragon he bought from the platinum store as 20 stones, but then be upset when a 5 stone rare statue he just was rewarded with for a kill was stolen when he could expect them to weight the same. That said. Literally every other drop is stealable other than the spellbook rares (they are newbied by default globally). Not a design choice for the event. Just governing world mechanics. I believe the only items classified with weight this way are monster statues, platinum statues (they all weight 10, stealable but not easy), and filled commodity deeds. (We want to encourage players to sell bulk goods to one another). The trammel solution to things like this is to bless everything. For felucca we use the weight, and risk of the player dying in certain situations to apply the proper level of risk while being fair.
Anyone have any strategy tips for the new Halloween gate and dungeon? Do I just kill whatever I see and hope I get a holiday coin drop or 2? Or should I be targeting specific creatures to maximize the potential for drops? Just kinda confused as to what the best plan is...
There are a few monsters that are guarantee I believe. Like vampires and other high ends. The regular mobs are random drops. I know it’s bit much info but I hope it helps a little.
