Suggestion: Stop Making Suggestions

Seriously though, how long will it take for y’all to figure out you’re wasting your time.

I guess I set myself up for that one, asking for any reference, but I think we can all agree we are sitting at about 1% success rate.

I stand by my words. It’s pointless. These new kids (and some thick-headed vets) need to stop making suggestions for change.

Got rid of the RunUO abomination that was previously the normal lich sound.

If you read the patch notes, there are things in there that go beyond bug fixes but were the result of players suggesting (and sometimes whining/complaining) to Telamon. There have also been changes that were not mentioned in patch notes to address non-bug issues.

Another example: players asked Telamon about opening up mysterious parts of the world map that were not accessible. And we got the NoH dungeon, which to my knowledge was never used in any era b/c it was not finished. It also included a compromise that both PKs and Trammies were happy with (I would count ppl complaining about reds over-farming pvmers as a suggestion).

I've only been here less than 2 yrs, and I've been told "just wait a bit longer and you'll see it" by some salty vets. The current state of the server is more than enough to satisfy my UO itch forever, whether or not any of my suggesting are even acknowledged. So there is no harm in making suggestions since doing so cannot result in my frustration.

You can certainly argue that some very popular suggestions have not been implemented, but I disagree that suggestions are a waste of time.


ETA: archery DID get a buff, but I suspect it won't be made as powerful as it was in-era due to how it has been used on other shards...

I've given up playing actively until a major patch. That's not to slur the server or Telamon, in any way. I'm just bored and have very little time to play anyway.

A major patch would likely get me going again, but at this point most of my friends have moved on, I'm pretty anti-social, and hate most of you anyway

In any case, I haven't lost hope. I logged onto Discord for the first time today, and there being an official Discord server is pretty refreshing. I also noted that Quick is now an Admin? Hopefully, that applies to UOR as well. If so, that guy is a wizard with Razor, I'm sure he's gonna do great things with Telamon.


I take most game changing suggestions with a grain of salt. Majority of them are knee jerk reactions to someone getting their feelings hurt in game.
