That's a really tasty looking "Malt" in your Avatar, but damn man, I think someone spiked it!
*Puts name on list*
Can I send you my signature so you can check it? I love the idea!
Can we get this moved to the UOR Dr. Phil health forum? I think it was a miss-post..
What if I identify myself as a female, that identifies as a male that plays a female character that doesn't know what her identity is because she became addicted to using polymorph?
@Maltman as both an active tamer and male playing almost ALL female characters I must share my point of view on this entertaining topic.
Females have WAY more armor/clothing options. If your on a male character searching player vendors for invulnerability leather armor, and the only ones left are female leather/skirts, your kinda screwed. Visually, if im going have a paperdoll on screen all the time it might as well look good!
This may just be me, but I assume every player I meet here is human. I really cant think of a good reason why gender would matter in the first place. If your looking for love through UO:R.................. ya
Tamers Over Powered! sure are, no doubt, 100%. So dont make an OP tamer. I refuse to ride the 2 dragon+mare bandwagon, but still maintain several REALLY FUN and well balanced tamers.
This may also just be me again, but playing a game should be about FUN. Do I care that everyones build/play style is "more powerful" than mine? Nope, let them all be OP as **** and fall asleep throwing an occasional heal, when they could be challenging themselves and enjoying the game far more.
If you want to play a dexxer/warrior type, be honorable and all that, no one is stopping you. Go have fun with it and dont worry about making X gold per-hour like all the OP tamers... gold cant buy you happiness friend.
As a male that's plays half and half male and female characters, my reasoning behind deciding whether a character will be female or not, largely depends on if the name would sound/look feminine or masculine.
I try not to imagine if a player is male or female, because its irrelevant to how I would treat them anyway
Yeah PM me. Got to warn you, you might not like what I reveal.
ill get behind the female character thing as long as semidar stops reflecting my spells without poly! damn sexist bird, amirite?
I agree with OP, this was me after my latest UO love affair
Solid 'gold' advice.
I just never liked how female characters looked in their paperdolls. Sandals and masks for instance IMO just look like garbage on a female character in their paperdoll.
Male characters are all clean edges etc. and female characters are just sloppy looking like when the developers designed it they didn't put as much effort into the female appearance via paperdoll.
I feel like we're closer, Andersonius, now that I know you like your males with clean edges and your females not sloppy.
Sometimes a thread is so delightful, it should never be lost to the sands of time and fall through the cracks. Before there was Hiju Zuru and the UOR Passport......
Before our hearts and minds were betrayed by the terrible fact that Airframer was Skunkape all this time and betrayed us...
there was Maltman, the handwriting expert who wanted it mandatory that only real females be allowed to have female chars in game!
I remember seeing this thread and how hilarious it was and not sure if the dude was serious or not, and wondering to myself if this was real or if I had only imagined i read a thread like this. But it exists, and its right here... I finally found this hidden gem!!
Bahahaha, thanks @PaddyOBrien re-reading some of this thread really made my day!
bless you for reminding me .... that sh__ was gold.
