BE, you will be missed. If I can request one thing, it is that you leave at least one toon so that you can stop back anytime you wish and interact with the community!

PS. I guess I will be holding onto the Orc leaderboard now for awhile!

    Well jeezus...

BlackEye man, you damn nearly made me quit UO! After you properly rinsed me I started thinking (perhaps overthinking) UO, how it's crack, it takes up time, I get to stressed or too into the game, etc etc... I didn't touch UO or IRC for 4 months. I confess I was fucking livid IRL and I didn't like that a UO experience gave me such a negative emotional response.

But slowly I mellowed out a bit, the UO bug never really left me. So when I decided to check it out again and good memories and peoples names flooded back I opted to hit you up and reclaim some of my shit 4 months after the fact. You obliged as you could as you initially promised which is why I made my triumphant return.

So yeah... don't quit, maybe just switch to the monastic lifestyle like elhorno did :)

Me and you are clearly very different people, I confess I hate thieves, griefers and such and choose to play UO as I do IRL, kind and helpful to all. Anyhoo... despite that, UOR is a rich tapestry and you are doubtlessly a part of it.

See you in game again soon;)

For the curious, BlackEyes looting me is reported here and that's when I noticed it, by reading the thread and being like wait a fucking second...

We'll miss ya BlackEye. I certainly understand the Real Life vs. UO Life balance issue. It took me a long time to get to where I am now just a casual gamer. Before, I was itching to play every minute of every day. I had to walk away from it for awhile to get to that point.

The tales to recount would be numerous, so I will simply say thank you for keeping us on our toes and making this game fun.

Best of luck to you and take care.

    and yes, spears for years :) :( :) :(

When we first met dexxer to dexxer Elektra had a fairly low-cost outfit. It was a year or so ago @ Fire lich lords. If you can remember the outfit items i'd love to know! I have to represent one of the best dexxers on the shard!

You will be sadly missed bro! I hope you come and chat in the channel, but you know feel free to just cut us all out of your life, otherwise it can become tempting again. Still a good slander from time to time would be nice.

I am certian that UO is one of those things that should be played in small doses but cant be :(

Blackeye, the man who openly played the villain role, and secretly played the helpful role. The opposite of most peoples UO life.

Master of UO game mechanics and Creator of the greatest thread on UOR forums.

Sorry to see you go. All the major mechanic and players contributions you did wont be forgotten.

I will greatly pride myself in possibly having the greatest Black Eye story ever told and item in remembrance of "Black Eye" The following is my story:

I started the server back 2.5 years ago, a few months after I got my feet under me I had my first 7X Stun PK mage named "The Prophet" finished. Shortly after he was done I started making the rounds killing anyone and everyone I could find. A month or so into my PK dungeon rotations I recalled into Wrong Executioners, loaded flamestrike from a scroll as usual, preped stun and ran in full blast not knowing if anyone was there. Behold a unknown character slaying executioners! I hammer my "target closest innocent" key just as I see him cast recall, luckily he was interrupted by my spell and my fist stunned him! He met his timely demise stunned followed by 2 mind blasts! I quickly looted his corpse and gate my new bag of riches out. Quickly looking at weapons I see a "Supremely Accurate Hatchet of Vanishing and Repond Slayer" now situated securely in my house!

Being the softy I am, I went back through my gate and rezed him up. Striking up a conversation and feeling bad I quickly returned all said wares including the amazing hatchet. Not knowing who I had just killed we spoke a few kind words to each other and parted ways.

A few weeks after killing the unknown character I upgraded to a Large Patio for stockpiling and hoarding all my new found riches. This meant I needed extra good security that was impenetrable even buy the best. I setup a 1 tile table wall straight across the front of the house with a chop barrel. After that all loot was sorted behind the barrel with the best going in the back room behind the hard placed table run.

After recently having settled into my house I was running a tad behind one morning and had to rush to put my characters away before heading out the door for work. I gated 2 of them in from what ever remote obscure location I was playing at, quickly opened the door, knowing my place was pretty secure I instantly logged off. Keep in mind EVERY time I enter my homes I detect hidden, EVERY time... But this once...

When I returned from my long days labor at work I logged in and to my surprise I found a book sitting INSIDE my house!?!? The book said the following:

    Black Eye Book!.JPG

Later I came to find out the person I returned the goods to in the executioner room was actually Black Eye! I had a few items that were not locked down but were one tile to far over the tables to grab some of which were a hand full of level 6 maps noted in the book. I have always kept this book locked down as one of my prize possessions as the "Day Black Eye almost got me!"

    @BlackEye @Ecstatic

I do my final forum check of the night and find your post...

As for what I would prefer.. I would prefer you stay and lend your voice to important matters and in game for the good times.

Thank you for the shovels, they will be put to good use.

The unique location rune is spot on for what I really like in game.. the rare the unique, the special.

Tho I would not say no to the 19charge 1150 dye tub :)

At this point all I can say is goodbye, good luck and God Save the Queen ! & if you ever stop by again, know that you have friends here.

    Hi,

Didn't know you well, we only spoke once -- I thought you were Silas BlackEye. Anyways.. I've been there before. Once you accumulate too much in game, tends to not be fun anymore. Best of luck to you in the future. I also recommend what others have suggested, don't delete your characters etc. Learn to play the game in moderation. Force yourself to follow a schedule.

Blackeye, I battled you on the only grounds I knew I stood a chance: friendship on the forums and witty banter in game! haha

By far the most memorable experience I will have is the Balrog Challenge! You inspired some fun times with that effort!
    http://uorforum.com/threads/quest-for-the-best-jupiter-vs-balrog-1on1-who-wins.18825/

The hardest part of that challenge was luring the Terathan Balrog from his den, past all the nasty spiders, and then getting him to pose for a picture! I'll tell you they are the most foul tempered photo-subjects!

Also, do you have my cup of dice!? hahaha

Thank you kindly for your donation to Paws and the shard.

I completely support your personal decision. It shows great personal strength to recognize one's own weaknesses. I too have had to pull the plug the only way I knew how once or twice. The first few days are the most difficult. I'd recommend adding a single player game you can use to 'fill' the gap, but which is much more easily set down/stopped when real life calls. FF XV helped me with this.

    Best of all kindly regards,

    Jupiter

I hate to see you go, but I understand it. We first met randomly farming on V-day when I had no clue who BahamaMama was, I just knew you looked cool (and you didn't kill me for my noobish ways). It's been awesome interacting with you on here, and you'll be greatly missed by us all (well... some people are probably breathing a sigh of relief).

So there I was standing on the Skara Brae docks as Blackeye sailed away on my boat. It's been a few years and the details are blurry. I only know that it wasn't carelessness on my part but skilled stealthing on Blackeyes. I was so pissed my hands were shaking. The loud "Oh F***king NOOOO!!!". I exclaimed was answered by my wife saying "Did someone kill you again?" She's very UO supportive but I can't get her to play. Anyway a few minutes later Blackeye posted pics on the pvp section of his boat ride and after I contacted him he sold me everything back, pretty cheap actually. Another time he stole my bods and returned them for a reasonable price also. By this time I was working on my own thief and he said finish him and get out here stealing. :)

I appreciate the BOD collection bud. I'll give them a good home. Good luck with what's next

I would love to see a post from BE of all his greatest heists recapped and also his ways of where he hung out and how he had his best shady deals ;)

Thanks for the trophies and chests @BlackEye, I really am pleased to have them, especially since so many have your name on. The Librarian's archivist spirit is in rapture overdrive! :)
