The problem: Bonded pets do not currently take skill loss on death.

I get it. DDOS can get people's pets unjustly killed so skill loss on pets on death was temporarily removed.
I would like to make the argument that occasional unjust skill loss is better then tamers being even stronger and risk-free then ever before.

Solution: Re-institute skill loss on bonded pets at 2.5% or GREATER. Ya you heard me, greater. I think 5% is a really fair place to put it at considering how powerful the class is.

    * For reference, before the change it was 2.5% per death.

It was originally 10% and considering we can literally bond a stable full of dragons, it should return to exactly that.

Or just let me bond slayers and let's get this Trammel thing wrapped up.

I see your point, but some players that don't have the experience, gold, stable full of bonded dragons or the time to get back what is lost from a DDOS attack.

I am not full on board until there had not been attacks for awhile since they are still happening, sorry guys, but not quite yet.

BOND SLAYERS if tamers get their goodies why can't dexxers?

It's full Trammel ahead or bring back skill loss at 10%. When a dexxer is out there with a high end slayer that has cost them untold amounts of gold, they're at a substantial amount of risk as well if not more so than a tamer.

Also lower skill gain on dragons, 2-3 days is easy. Make it take a week or more.

    Disagree

Chris has already said that it is temporary for there being no skill loss upon pets deaths.

Kinda like how meteor swarm and mass chain lightning were only to be temporarily be 1 damage inside a house?

Agreed, although I think it should be minimum 10% skill loss if bonding has to stay. I would rather there just be no bonded pets at all.

If I lost any of my 1M+ slayer weapon due to a DDOS I doubt that I'd ever see them restored. This protection on tames is ridiculous. Tamers are powerful enough, you don't really need tames at 7x.

It's a pain in the ass to train tames, I know, I've done it too.

It's also a pain in the ass to find, or afford, a powerful slayer weapon. There is no item protection with DDOS, there should not be a tames protection either.

Oh I know. Its so horrible that people can't run around killing AFKers in the middle of their houses. Such a sad story indeed. Chris should do like that other server and not fix anything and not make an attempt to fix anything and allow people with way too much time on their hands to run around killing AFK people in the middle of their houses where they should not be affected by damage.

Its such a bad thing that we have someone running this server that is against the needless exploitation of bugs to satisfy childish grief squads.

I think you missed the point. So i'll spell it out for you.

Telamon likes to change things with the intention of fixing them but then never actually gets around to fixing it, so it just stays in it's trammel state....

I agree, but plz no more than 2.5% loss for single slot tames. The little guys die FAR more often than dragons.

You whipper snappers! In my day, we had no bonded pets and we were happy just to have 10 dragons out at once!

    Agreed, for what it's worth.

If somehow the proposal changes in favor of removing pet bonding all together...

... yes, all of my yes'es.
