mine says and I got from an orc near yew Ultima History XIV by a historian this ancient writing was recovered from a cave wall only recently. it translates to, "O cry, O cry, O cry no more." Historians are conflicted about its meaning because a lesser persons name was written as a single symbol such as IXIW, or in this case O. we may never know why it was carved there.
I only request that people dont hit the ancient tombs with a decoder script and reveal ALL its secrets before the good citizens have had a chance at it @Magus Emplar lol
Player will continue to find strange books throughout the world for new next few weeks. The Ancient Tomb Quest is more mentally demanding then hitting an "all kill" macro, so it may not be for everyone
Aw @Keza don't worry, my "script" is nothing more than a substitution cipher REPL! Thanks for sharing, @Shiloh! I know this must be difficult for you, but we appreciate and respect the burden you bear, as often does the messenger.
I wouldn't exactly say the Mystery deepens, but well, another book has turned up on another of my doorsteps. New mystery unravels "Why MY doorsteps?" I hope this helps our UOR sleuths
As I wandered through the Lost Lands last night, I came across what appeared to be some kind of excavation site. I thought little of it until I heard a faint chant coming from within the cave strangely similar to the ancient written language we have been seeing in these books. While I could not make out the words exactly, I did listen and attempt to jot down the sounds as best I could. VIIX WVIX VWVX WVIX IWWX IXIW IWIX My apologies for not scribbling further. I feared for my life had I stayed too long. I have tried, and failed, to translate this into anything useful. Perhaps, though, others may learn. In the meantime, I still seek a copy of this "ancient tomb" book. I cannot ignore this overwhelming sense that it is all, somehow, connected.
occlo orc I have gotten 3 books now all from orcs, not lords, mages,or scouts, but regular old orcs.....
