In order of sustained dps tests (pre tactics bump)

    -- two handed
    quarter staff
    black staff
    war hammer

    - one handed
    war axe
    hammer pick
    war mace

anything after that isn't worth mentioning unless it comes with a good slayer bonus (repond, earth shatter, etc)

Id like to add that while war hammer doesn't have the best DPS, it offers crushing blow and can be repaired without the need for fort-powder. Still my main mace weapon of choice.

    War Hammer as numero uno!
    Yes, it's a little slow...
    But not unbearably.
And very satisfying when you get a clean 40's hit along with the crushing noise.

    War Axe
Love this weapon but sadly it is glitched here and does NOT damage the opponents stamina.

    Hammer Pick
    Reliable damage...
    Noticably slow...
    But solid hits in 20's

    Mace (the shorter, spikier maul)
Veronica the detective used to chase me around Ocllo with her vanquishing one when she caught me up to no good.
I had to respect her swings.
I probably wouldn't if i was a more heavily armored adversary.

    Quarterstaff
    Fast!
It's the "carpenters katana" if you ask me.
But it suffers too many low dice rolls for damage in my opinion.

Macing has always been one of my favorites (tied with Archery, Heavy Xs baby) and probably always will be. It really depends what your looking to do.

I really enjoy the qstaff, but they need to be repaired with fort powders which can get pricey. Changing soon!

Correct me if I'm wrong but If you are making a peace dexxer ideally you want a slow hard hitting weapon, as the more hits you have the more likely you are to break peace. War Hammer fits the bill, war mace as well.

I have found players are far more inclined to sell qstaffs at a lower cost, which has gained me some very nice slayers at a significant discount. This will probably change when carp/bow repair deeds are added. I'd be happy to show you some of the dps capabilities, I would say on average I'm hitting at high 30s mid 40s, with an occasional 50+ and a low 10-20 range. Factor in the speed though and mid range mobs go down in 10 or so seconds.

For 1 handed weaps, the war mace fits a peace dexxer perfectly, very slow, hard hitting, and one handed so it's great for pots. I purchased a silver/power war mace and it tears through LLs.

I will add this, I made a half ass LJ/Peace/Dexxer ( LJ at a pathetic 60) used a might slayer double axe he out preformed the macers dps.Who was Using a power slayer QStaff HOWEVA! Lj takes up a precious slot for resist/discord/mage/etc.

Take what I say with a grain of salt. This is coming from a newer player to UOR, but still a long time UO fan.

@Marvelous Marv War Maces are actually pretty fast for a macing weapon.

I think what's really important here is that the katana is the best mace ever.

Son of a, I was always under the impression it was the slowest one hander. You're right.

This info may not 100% carry over to UOR.

Hard to organize the below, but the War Mace speed is at 32, faster than the Hammer Pick 30, ( a real shocker) and the Maul also 30. For comparison sake the war mace is still slower than all one handed fencing/swords except the Viking sword also at 30.

Weapon Name STR Req. Damage Speed HP Skill
    Club 10 4d5+4 (8-24) 40 31-40 Mace *
    Hammer Pick 35 3d10+3 (6-33) 30 31-70 Mace *
    Mace * 20 6d5+2 (8-32) 30 31-70 Mace *
    Magic Wand 0 2d3 (2-6) 35 31-70 Mace *
    Maul 20 5d5+5 (10-30) 30 31-70 Mace *
    Smith's Hammer 30 6d3 (6-18) 30 31-60 Mace *
    War Hammer (2-H) 40 7d5+1 (8-36) 31 31-110 Mace *
    War Mace * 30 5d5+5 (10-30) 32 31-110 Mace *

Hammer Picks look cool though. I feel like plain maces should have been the fastest but lowest damage and war maces should have been the slowest and hardest hitter.
