I was on the snowy island trying to work taming off a boat. I brought a giant ice serpent to be my clean up crew of tamed snow leopards. The angered ice serp (agro'd on my tamer) turned his attention, w/out barding skills, on every grey non-agressive npc that walked by. Walruses and snow leopards were being eaten BEFORE they were tamed. el horno came to bear witness to this great travesty! END THE ENDLESS SLAUGHTER!
Update- horno and I thought maybe a Frost Troll would work better.... IT DOESNT He just ate my leopards also (before i got to tame them): Troll agrod on tamer Leopards following alt to tamer Alt/Leopards get to boat Alt runs away very fast so leopards get picked up by the tamer alt comes back to make sure it worked as needed.. and boom - leopards are not tamed, fighting the troll
I hereby testify and officially confirm that these trolls and serpents were attacking untamed spawn unprovoked. Walrus's, snow leopards, arctic wolfs, and polar bears be warned, there are some angry aggressive mobs on your island who no longer wish to share the space in peace.
Were the untamed animals pre-tamed at one point? If so, that's how it's supposed to function I believe.
This is correct. I was there earlier last week taming Walrus, Leopards and Bears,... but renamed all of my to "a".
were not pre-tamed... They were not renamed and I was able to get skill gains off them with my barely sufficient taming (i know if they were pretamed - the skill raises 5 pts and i wouldnt get gains ) And some were clearly respawns as i was at this for hours
Just to be clear, the skill raises +6.0. I'm not sure why you wouldn't get gains though. Obviously you cannot gain off your own pre-tames, but I still find it likely that a tamer(s) ran around the island taming stuff (without renaming it) and then they went wild after awhile. I witnessed the same thing happening when training a tamer on Dagger Isle.
