Sign ups will close and the event will start at 8pm pacific / 11pm eastern. All you need to do to sign up is show up and report to the referee (Iapetus). If there are no event gates, I will provide gates via a bot (Ethan) at Occlo Bank. If you're red you should be able to figure out how to get their on your own. The tournament may be either single or double elimination depending on turnout. Spectators and competitors will be entered into a drawing to select contestants for Fight Night's first "Let's Make a Deal!" Will you win a fabulous prize? Will you take a payoff? Will you get zonked? Find out this Friday Night! Fight Night 1v1 Rules: Contestants are expected to bow (emote is fine) before each fight. Contestants will start on the carpet squares. The match will begin when the wall of stone drops. Equipment: GM armor only (all leather and ingot types), all magic weapons and nonexceptional runics, exceptional runic weapons up to Gold, all potions and anything else not expressly prohibited here or elsewhere. NO heal wands NO controls (summons, tames, mounts) NO field spells NO stealing NO dropping blocking items NO hiding/invis ANYTHING ELSE goes By participating you agree to follow all referee instructions and to exhibit good sportsmanship. The time limit for all matches except the finals will be 8 minutes. The time limit for the finals will be 12 minutes. The match will pause once the limit has been reached players will be reset for sudden death. In the tradition of Stormhold's Friday Night Fights, during sudden death the audience will be permitted to cast fire fields and/or poison fields into the arena. Last Man Standing: After the tournament there will be a last man standing. Participants will enter the arena and, once the even starts, contestants (and only contestants) are free to do whatever they like except get on an ethereal mount or bring anything or anyone into or out of the arena. The last person alive inside the arena wins. When there are 2 contestants remaining there will be a 120 second countdown until the audience is free to cast poison and fire fields (at your own risk: unlike 1v1 sudden death, the contestants may be blue to you). In case it isn't already obvious, don't bring anything you aren't prepared to lose. Short version: no controls except summons, nothing and no one in or out. Contestants chose one box at a time to smash and received the prize inside - until they blew up. One contestant blew up on the first round. The other cleared all of the boxes. Game 2: 100k This was a contest to see which of two contestants would be the first to find an easter egg buried in a container. The winner could then keep a small prize or gamble for a larger one. The contestant chose to gamble and won. Big Deal - Contestant 1: a boat Contestant 2: wine, cheese, ham, grapes Again, no one won the big deal this week despite having 2 contestants and only 3 boxes. (The fact that I didn't smash the box before persuading them to switch was intended to be a hint that they both missed and should take the check, but they both stuck with the boxes.) The prize was revealed to be a dyed orc helmet, 100k, a 3 charge runebook dye tub and a pile of snow. A new prize or prizes will be selected for next week.
