Wow! Thank you very much, @Alex Caember, @Zyler and @Jupiter!!! I'm delighted to read this news on a sunny Sunday morning. Congratulations to @The Watch for his epic 7-volumes ... clearly the shard's Tolkien or Tolstoy and to Shik'bah for what sounds like it might be a Haiku I was wondering what the secret prizes were going to be. Congrats, too, of course, to my friendly neighbour, @Christoph Brock Will all the stories be available to read at the King's Library? How about a special 'Literary Supplement' of the Britain Herald with some extracts from each entry and a bit about the authors? Or an interview with @The Watch as the winner? Thanks, guys, you've got me feeling excited and inspired
Grats to the winners... I will continue to chronical the journeys of "a tunnel rat" and perhaps next time it will be worthy of inclusion in the library. Cant wait to read your stories !!
Let me clarify - all entries will be included in the Library. Only the ones mentioned receive gold/trophies.
Thanks for a very fun contest, Alex!! Congrats to my fellow winners and to all of the entrants! Many more stories to be told out there, so keep writing....
It had not occurred to me - I don't even know what one might entail, and it seems highly unlikely to get everyone together at the same time !
Just an update - still waiting on the trophies As soon as those are set, I will contact each winner and arrange for the delivery of rewards
Now that sounds like fun! Might be a bit difficult to find a time when US and Netherlands can synchronise, but we could give it a try MIght, of course, be an open invitation to the sticky-fingered or bloody-handed ... ulp!
@LanDarr - As soon as I can secure them without them being editable or stealable. This is an issue that Telamon has said is slated to be fixed in the upcoming patch
Ok, the prizes are now in and available for pickup! You might notice some bonus prizes bestowed to the winners by the gods (the special-hued books!) @The Watch @Azoth @Christoph Brock @Diablo / @Belok I will try to contact you guys on IRC as I see you - but you might want to toss me a PM when you are on if you see me on!
I echo Azoth.... Wow! That's just awesome!! You guys have done a fantastic job with this event and I hope it becomes a regular feature. And, if you ever need judges, I'll volunteer my services. Thanks a bunch and congrats to my fellow winners!!
Alex it was great to see you earlier and catch up on things. Thanks for these amazing gifts, which I've currently placed in the entrance hall to the Trammel Library. Here's a shot of the Mad Professor trying out his red gear alongside the beautiful green desk, book and angel. You'll also see the red necromancer's tome that was a gift from @Treasureman. Congratulations on such an enjoyable contest (admittedly said with a slight amount of bias as I was lucky). May the King's Library enjoy many further successes!
Thanks again, Alex! This has been a lot of fun. The trophy is the first one I've earned here, and I will display it proudly. I'm looking forward to the next Writing Contest. Keep up the good work!
Urk First Blood by Shik'bah - Secret Prize for shortest story Totally cool....my Shk'Bah made it..... thank you Diablo for writing my story
Don't feel bad Jack, stories about thieves and miners don't sell well this time of the year Maybe in the spring... hint hint .. when is the next contest
