And you're absolutely right. Some of us are very passionate about this game and get worked up about stuff. You know what's the number one thing I get worked up about right now? Staff and volunteers being insulted. That's near and dear to me. You may not like some of the decisions that staff make, but without them this whole shard wouldn't exist so I think they deserve a little more respect than some people are giving.

A relatively minor affair, the resolution does affect another player's game. Never lose sight of the fact that a big part of UO is the ability to alter another player's style of play. That said, the OP made a mistake and was given no help in learning how to resolve the issue for himself I'm assuming. So, the OP was allowed to play the game as he wanted which lead him to leaving his boat vulnerable in the open seas...

This would be a situation in which the staff would get involved and move the boats in question along with speaking to their owner. Simply contact one of us here, ingame via a page, or in our IRC chatroom.

Boat blockades of an extreme sort will always be addressed by the staff, as they were on the original production servers when they impede normal ocean going traffic or completely block access to a public location. Even a blockade as simple as 4 boats around a single players boat.

Now this does not mean that we will get involved with every stuck boat, but in this situation it appears the 4 boats were specifically placed to block in the other player. Since there is no way for the blocked player to contact the blocker the blocked player has little or no recourse to resolve the situation other than contacting the staff. Which then forces us to step in and 1. Do nothing (50% of the players are upset) or 2. Do something (50% of the players are upset).

Regardless of felucca mechanics this is a volunteer free ultima online server. If your actions specifically create a situation in which the staff will be forced to get involved that situation will be corrected. If you want free reign to discourage other players we recommend you look for a for profit server with paid staff.

Samorites decision was correct and is in line with our posted rules on the subject.

Punt has been pretty rude and you've been condescending in some posts in this thread.

Find a SINGLE example of me parroting the influence of trammel quote and you can have everything I own. (Not that me giving everything I own away is saying much anymore)

... I'd be naturally inclined to think you were being more "general" than specifically talking to me except for the fact that you are literally responding to a post of mine. (As quoted)

Just because I do consider myself a hardcore feluccan, does not mean you can generalize... and lump me in with everyone you see consider themselves a hardcore feluccan. That is not how it works.

    love this rule

Oh here's another one of my favorites.
It's kinda ironic that you spend a huge post railing against Mindless because you think calling things trammel is too ambiguous, but the cornerstone of your argument is that griefing is bad. "Griefing" is an even more ambiguous term.

I believe this post is huge.

Please excuse me for what may seem like me speaking for people I do not know (PFR)....

But the day players like PFR are discouraged from playing; is the day you all may as well start calling it Ultima Offline.

This roughly translates into engaging in behavior that is guaranteed to cause the staff to get involved in the situation or showing a complete lack of respect for the non profit aspect of Renaissance.

And almost no one has been banned for this. The only players we lose due to this are the ones who simply refuse to follow our rules and leave for their own reasons.

    1. Not insulted. Not now and really hardly ever.

    2. Give me a break man my ipads autocorrect has a mind of its own you really gonna try to make me out to be a fool because my ipad kept putting "Random" instead of "Ransom"?

English is indeed my first language.

    3. I still disagree with you on the concept that there was a ransom opportunity here but im not gonna dredge that up again.
