Vot Zu'ur was chatting with old friends, and they got him thinking of some old times from back when he used to still do battle in the tournaments. He listened to the Town Criers announcing a Capture the Flag tournament and pondered watching one. Having not picked up his dagger or spellbook in quite some time, though, he wasn't sure if he should actually participate. He decided that he would go watch the match and talk to the townsfolk.

When he arrived there were a few people in the waiting area boasting of their prowess on the field. One great champion, Jody, was quite nearly convincing everyone that he was the second coming of Lord British. That was when Jody noticed old Vot Zu'ur ambling on in. Jody was quite taken with Vot Zu'ur's outfit and offered him a generous sum of $500,000 gold pieces on the spot. Vot Zu'ur would never sell his outfit, as it was a gift from a friend, but he politely responded. In the meantime, his friend "Dev" from H*O had talked him into joining the CTF match instead of just spectating. He signed up on the blue team, checked the clock, and resumed his conversation with young Jody.

Dev elbowed ole Vot Zu'ur and told him to pretend that he was selling the outfit to him to stir Jody up a bit. Being and old friend, Vot Zu'ur and Dev played out the act. Vot Zu'ur put the entire outfit in the bank and Dev made a show of taking off his outfit. Part of ole Vot Zu'ur's outfit was his green spellbook, though, and something tickled at the back of his mind when he placed it in his bank box.

    POOF!

The magics that created the Capture the Flag Arena's whisked him away into the match! He didn't have his spells! He had nothing but a newbie dagger, Greater Cure Potion, and Greater Heal Potion!

Vot Zu'ur face-palmed at that moment and was about to just lay down and throw the match. ....but then that ole spirit of youth started nawing at him again and he got the itch. He knew he couldn't cast any spells as a mage, but his feet still worked. He took off running as fast as he could. The first few steps nearly felt like his ole muscles were tearing. His joints popped and he momentarily thought that he was making a mistake, but then he saw an Energy Bolt heading his way that he reflected somewhat with his natural skill. Adrenaline started pumping and he ran even faster towards his goal!

    The flag!

He grabbed and ran back to his base only to see his path blocked by a magical wall of stone. He mumbled something to himself about a spellbook and reagents as he jumped to his left and found a better path towards his home base.

Time and again, he ran tirelessly like in years long past defying the odds of his unfortunate circumstances.

At the end of the match, he gathered his belongings from his bank box and looked in his pack.

    CTF Flag Master. Winner.

Jody was none too amused and proceeded to tell ole Vot Zu'ur how horrible his team was and how horrible Vot Zu'ur was. Ole Vot Zu'ur just smiled and told ole Dev and other friends about it and had a good laugh.

Best of luck on the shard, Jody!
