Summary of his day.. Goes into dungeons solo to pk, gets rekt & then in an attempt to redeem the first pathetic gank comes back with 5 ppl. & then wonders why some people opt to fish lulz. All jokes and troll shit aside.... I was honestly just thinking about that... maybe boats only lock when anchored and not fishing and are open when moving or fishing or something. Gotta be some mechanic to make it gank proof but still safe enough to where it's not as gankable as a person farming in dungeons or doing champs or w.e cause it's not = to gold efficiency imo. So to make it, to easy to gank wouldn't make sense imo. Shouldn't be as exploitable as say ganking someone farming in a dungeon. & it's not like someone can stealth a boat so I'm sure ppl could still macro a get out of gank free card to lock up the boat and flee ect like ppl using recall macros to flee from fights in dungeons. But would still make windows of opportunity and make it worth for people to be out on the sea for reasons other than fishing or griefing. Might also make fishing a little more fun. & then in this said perfect world everyone is happy? Either way just my thoughts on this stuff I'm still pretty new to sever so I'm not on here demanding nerfs or changes on anything just trying to give my perspective on the matter & trying to offer my ideas, to give others ideas and inevitably try to make the game better for everyone. I think I can solve this problem. I mean... since we're brainstorming and all. All players must accompany their character with a live webcam stream of their face (no less than 1080p) along with dolby digital 5.0 (at least) surround sound audio. This way when you're "interacting with other players", you get to truly experience what you're really after (their grief) in rich, immersive high definition.
Firstly, this is NEVER going to happen, not ever. You guys sure love your trammel instances and fishing is a near extension of that. It won't change, people like it. Mine as well just pretend those people don't exist on the shard. But, if you wanted to untrammel fishing, I would suggest simply making a boat become lockpickable only when there are no living people on board, but there are either a.) a ghost, or b.) a corpse of a player. When that condition is met, just allow it to be lockpicked for the next like, 2 minutes (criminal flag time). This would mean people parking their boat with fish, ore, amibs, or whatever in the hold would be safe. You can't just have every boat be openable, or else all boats will be opened, and nobody will use them. It also means that if you recall, much like you recall from PKs in dungeons, your boat is safe. And additionally, if someone actually does kill you, they can get on your boat to loot which only seems fair.
