Hi All, I used to play UO ages ago and I would love to come back. I saw a few PvP videos and this shard looks like the one it's closer on what I am looking for, since the UO:R was the best UO era in my opinion. Now, I am getting old here (37 ehy!) and I don't have the tons of hours I used to have before. Any idea on how to fast track and not to get straight away frustrated is appreciated. What is the best way to start and make some gold to then macro the first pvp character? What is the easiest competitive meta to play? Any help for a new starter will be appreciated !!
tamer and provo mage are popular for farming. provo and hide are nearly free, fairly easy to macro, and enough to get you some starting gold for reagents. For PvP you're looking at mostly stun mages from what I've heard.
thanks! however, I started to make money with cloth and I discovered that cannot be sold to NPC anymore. Any idea on how fast track some money?
You can sell that cloth to players, or take up tailoring and sell clothes to NPCs. Though note you can only sell 5 items at a time. Alternatively pick up provocation and head into the dungeon.
Welcome. There are some easy ways to get money fast. The easiest is probably a Blade spirit casting mage. For example, you can easily kill dragons in Destard that way while training your magery. But tbh, there are at least a dozen more good ways to get cash fast.
waiting to tell me how to start then I am trying to raise provocation macroing in Occlo but it doesn't move
Hey welcome.. Provo is difficulty based so if it’s not going on you may be using it on too easy or not hard enough targets. Try the troll vs Harpey in the cages down in the newbie dungeons.

Start with 50 Margery and 50 Provo. Follow the guide to get your str dex and not straight. And then macro music overnight till you get to 90ish. Then follow the Provo guide. All can be found in guide sections
Welcome Berindon, I also started recently with a peace dexxer. Although this is a good starting template it is relative slow in making money. Like the others I would recommend you a provo mage as well: GM Provocation GM Musicmanship GM Magery GM Meditation GM Eval Int GM Hiding GM Resist or something else Start with 50 Magery and 50 Provo and GM Music and Provo (use this guide to macro afk to GM: http://uorforum.com/threads/rins-provocation-macroing-guide.22061/). Add into the provo macro equipping and de-equipping of a magical wizard hat. This will GM meditation as well. After that GM hiding. All this takes you about 3-4 days of macroing. Then you are ready to start go into the dungeons. Start with easier targets, maybe liches? Use your magery skill to recall around. Use the money you gather to train up magery. When you are at maybe 70-80 magery add in blade spirits in your hunting routine. This will speed up the gold farming. When you are at 90 magery, which you can easily reach within a week, you have basically finished your gold making template. Epikur
I would recommend a Provo dexter to start. Tactics Anatomy Healing Weapons skill music Provo LJ 75 Magery 25 Can be up and running in about two days. And you can recall most of the time. Might get killed trying to escape but don’t go out with good stuff at first. Can take high level mobs with this and make good money quick. Also if you choose something other then swords you don’t need LJ so you could raise Magery or resist or whatever you see fit. Maybe disc ordinance
I started a little over a week ago and play very casually. I have gotten a small house down and several thousand reagents. My method since I didn't feel like making a bard/fighter was to farm cotton/wool in occllo and sell it to the tailor (or weaver... hell whichever buys) as a raw product. He will only buy about 50-75 of them every few hours so you bank the remainder for selling later. You can also turn it into thread and sell some of it to tailor.. just do it in small batches. With these thousands you start a mage character with 50magery and whatever else you want and buy them two runebooks from house by moongate and some blank runes. Now buy enough mark scrolls for about 20 marks and 10-20 gate scrolls from same house (also good house at Yew moongate for gate scrolls). Recall off the runebooks in the vendor house till you have marked all cities and dungeon entrances.. putting cities in one book and dungeons in other. Now recall to any city and start grabbing NPC escorts. Between the mark scrolls and your first 20-30 gate scrolls you will get to where you can start gating without them 70+ skill.. even if you fail 15 times a gate on average you will still be making bank and will soon find yourself around 80 skill and failing much less. I escorted my first little house in about 4h of play. Use the escort boards on the side of the banks to find the hard ones.. and tracking skill can come in handy too.
