Welcome to the shard. Been here since early this year after a 6 year hiatus. If you played in the old days, then you will love it here!!!

    Thanks friends!

Sadly, I tried like, 10x to download the game on my mac book pro and I could never get it to work.

Followed the installation instructions for mac, but still nothing. I would drag the OS to the client, but always giving me an error message  So I'm still waiting for my "OMG IT'S UO" feeling playing again.

As well I can't quite remember the shard I played on. I do remember at the time ('97-98) it was the most popular one.

@Nimrod I don’t know anything about macs. I suggest checking the guides on here. I seen a few that are specifically for apple/mac users.

If your mac is fast enough, just run a virtual machine with windows and play UO that way. Boot camp probably works but it's kind of annoying.

I would probably just use Wine. I have played UO that way before and it worked fine.

Your above error above is because you don't have the UNIX permission, usually be solved with:

Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility, click partition for UO, click Repair Disk Permissions

You can just use terminal and move that directory into where it doesn't want it if you want to.

    sudo mv <foldername> ~/whatever/UO/<foldername>

But it's likely this will run UO but also cause it not to be able to write to files like uo.cfg and your message logs. I wouldn't recommend that unless you know what you are doing with terminal etc.

I'm going to try the above thing that I bolded today after work for sure!
If not that, I'll try the virtual machine.
    Thanks Snap Dragon :D
