Patch 45: November 22nd - Duel System, Happy Thanksgiving

    • Consensual Duel System
      • Implemented a new consensual duel system allowing players to setup a structured duel between any number of players.
      • We will be adding several arenas located around the world, inside of town and outside of town allowing players to setup duels.
      • Extensively customized the system in order to remove all trammel aspects from it.
      • Players will have to travel to the duel arena in order to setup and start a duel.
      • Once the duel begins the players will be protected from outside interference until the duel is complete

    • Duel System - Maintenance
      • Disabled the ability to teleport into a duel region.
      • Disabled the ability to summon blade spirits or energy vortex's in a duel region from outside the region.
      • Disabled the ability to summon field spells into a duel region from outside the duel region.
      • You must be within 25 tiles of a Duel arena to use the I Wish to Duel Command
      • All players involved in a duel must be within 40 tiles of the arena in order to start a duel
    • Happy Thanksgiving
      • Created several new and challenging creatures for players to seek out during the holiday.
      • These creatures will begin to be seen throughout world starting on Monday the 25th
      • Created a new set of items to collect while hunting over the holiday.

    • Account management
      • Extended the time in which a character has to exist in order to be deleted to 14 days.
      • Removed the ability to delete a character who has long term murder counts.
        Note: Attempting to delete a character with long term murder counts will return the message that you cannot delete an active player.

    • Ancient MIB's
      • Created a more efficient method of handling the single click descriptions for ancient MIB's.
    • Champion Spawns
      • Adjusted the rate in which bonus platinum can be found during a champion spawn.
      • The chance to earn bonus platinum is now directly related to the difficulty being killed.
      • The Vermin-Horde champion spawn in Despise has been reactivated
    • Escorts
      • Configured escorts that spawn on Ocllo island as part of camp spawns to always desire to be escorted to Ocllo.
    • Holiday Vendor
      • Resolved a problem in which players buying a coffin deed were given the wrong version.
        Note: If this happened to you, you can trade your open coffin for a closed one, closed for open. Just contact a staff member.
    • Houses
      • Resolved a problem in which players at a certain elevation could target into a log cabin's 2nd floor. Thanks Rose
    • Mobiles
      • Added a marker to track the last trade a player was involved in to assist the system in other areas.
    • Runebooks
      • Runebooks can now be opened (read-only) while located on player vendors.
      • Players may now open the book to inspect the contents before buying the item.
      • However they cannot interact with the book more than changing the pages and reviewing the contents.
    • Skills
      • Raised the power level for traps on level 4 dungeon chests substantially.
        This will allow players to raise skill in Remove Trap beyond the 90.0 level from dungeon chests which was impossible prior to this change. Thanks Dalavar
    • Slayers
      • Added the Grand Executioner and Executioner to the correct (Repond) slayer listings.
    • Strandedness
      • Resolved a problem which when being sent to the Nu'Jelm docs you were sent to an incorrect Z axis. Thanks Lightshade.
    • Tinkering
      • Fixed a missing sound for the tinkering skill
    • Young Program
      • Fixed a problem in which players could not opt out of seeing the young player program menu. Thanks Snapdragon

    This change just published to the live server & added to the main post.

    Skills
    • Raised the power level for traps on level 4 dungeon chests substantially.
      This will allow players to raise skill in Remove Trap beyond the 90.0 level from dungeon chests which was impossible prior to this change. Thanks Dalavar

    Yeah I understand it was a little too easy to get platinum thru the ratmen spawn, but we were doing the Succi spawn, and got halfway thru the spawn and not one person got a coin? Seems a little too nerfd. What is it now? For every 500 dragons u kill you might get 1? Yes the butt-hurt is a little strong in me right now. Thinking you killed Champ Spawns

    The chance to earn a platinum coin when killing a dragon linked to a champion spawn before the patch was 1 in 100. After the patch it is 1 in 50. The lower 2 tiers of monsters had their chances reduced, the upper tiers were increased. Before the patch there was no gradient for difficulty, after the patch it is scaled to the difficulty of the monsters.

    That said you have to be within 10 tiles of the monster when it dies to qualify for the bonus.

    Yes, It was causing people to simply farm the spawn a bit, leave, wait for it to reset, and then repeat. We wanted to reward players for the duration of a champion spawn, just not at that level.

    The goal being an engaged player can earn 3-6 platinum working the spawn, and another 6 as their part of the kill on the champion.

    Cool, good stuff. Nice to see too that the champ spawn monsters have a higher platinum rate, from start to finish, than their vanilla counterparts.

    I'd think this would *increase* the amount of people doing these spawns, at least those doing so with the intention of finishing, which seems like a good change.
