This. No where was mobs mentioned, and if we're talking a selective inclusion of it, separating the concept of mobs from the concept of pets is important. No one is saying that balrons should be gate-able, so its a moot argument.

Though for the record, I personally liked and miss gate-able mobs. I understand 100% why its not appropriate here, but its a mechanic that I did like personally.

I don't really care about pet gating honestly. You're delusional if you think a tamer isn't always at an incredible advantage in pvp, and i challenge any person to 1v1 my tamer with any template and win (if you think this is how it should be, shame on you.) And if pet gating were a thing - all follow me - who cares? It would take massive carelessness on the part of the tamer to lose to this mechanic.

I don't want this to be a server where it's overrun by PKs and blues don't have a chance- yet I think true pvp balance is important, regardless of how it relates to pks. So any arguments about grief and pking are dumb to me. Griefing is a dumb word to me, as well. Accept that it's a felucca server...sack up and be ready for a harsh world. My tamer, personally, is incapable of losing to pks in even odds, maybe even 2:1. I sympathize with non pvpers and those not interested - but I'd never want the odds stacked in their favor because of the possibility of pking or 'griefing' and to make up for someone's unwillingness to learn to defend themselves.

Since we're talking about mob gating, just thought I'd share now that it's fixed

All names have been cropped to protect the guilty bug-exploiting house-killers, also known as griefers. ;) It's ok klaus, Mobolin and Pikka, the world should know you were there but Mes is doing his best to make sure you guys keep a squeaky clean image in the eyes of the shard, I guess. Sad to see my good friends stooping to such lows, but I guess whatever makes you happy in game, is your choice by all means. I'm sure there were more folks involved in that 'test' of a suspected bug. Glad you guys got that fixed.

    *golf claps*

No one ever said tamers aren't at an advantage in PvP....with their tames. As soon as you para/efield or what have you and remove them from the equation, that tamer is dirtnapped. If they are so overpowered in PvP, where are the packs of PvP tamers in Factions or red tamers?

The fact is, it is a sad practice and people who intentionally PvP with tamers (outside of self defense) are mocked and ridiculed because it is the lamest possible way to fight people if you're going to call yourself a PvPer.

No, wrong, even with para fields my tamer is the strongest template 1v1. Even with peacemaking, para fields, ev's or whatever you can come up with. Sorry. Tamers aren't in factions purely because there's some sense of honor among thieves so to speak. Pvpers do no respect pvp tamers.

As far as people cropped out and squeaky clean images- I cropped out a lot more than that. I feel sorry for you if you think that people are good because they are blues and people are bad because they are reds. You'd have to be a true trammelite to rationalize people in this regard. I don't need to school you on shard history however, you know it plenty well, and you make your own judgements.

No, I think that people are good because they are good. I know most of those guys already have reds and it has absolutely nothing at all to do with what's going on in that picture. I know you cropped out a lot more than that as the version you originally showed me was already cropped but still contained clear views of friends. I'm not going to pretend like that wasn't absolutely intentional.

The fact that those same friends who I consider to be good people, are casually exploiting bugs to house kill someone (deserving or not), is a sad blow to my understanding of those friends. It has literally nothing at all to do with the hue of their character names and everything to do with their actual character.

You don't need to apologize to me for your reasoning for why tamers aren't in factions as I already spelled that out in the last line that you seemingly ignored. Which, as it were is almost the same thing you stated. (in rebuttal?). I don't need a schooling on shard history at all to know that the people you cut from that pic since I first saw it have historically been honorable and very good people. The kind of people who would tell Telamon when they found a bug, not take advantage of it and send him a picture of the results. Things change and I guess people do to.

A bunch of tamers is the only thing TT "fears" on this shard currently as far as threats to their reds. Tamers that were half way decent at PvP would probably neutralize or at least balance the scales of nerd-power away from their favor. You can try and sell it however you want, but that's what it boils down to. You guys would delight in gating away dragons with your blues and then coming in with your reds, but, alas, it's only a wet dream.

Build a thousand bridges and hurl one pile shit. You aren't known as a bridge builder but a shit slinger. Was I there, yup. Was I there because that's where HC lives or because that's where Rikktor was? To those that know me, the answer is obvious. Blaise you are quick to smear the shit my friend, i'm surprised.

Out of curiosity, what was the exploit here?

Get Rikktor to teleport out of the dungeon, then try to get him to teleport into houses to kill people?

My understanding is that his new-found ability to teleport to players in Patch 52 had no range limitation. So you could toss an explosion, hop a gate to wherever, and Rikktor would teleport to you. He then does a quadbillion Earthquakes, killing people AFK in their houses.

But yea, getting back to the thread topic - involuntary pet gating is right square in the mix with killing people through walls. If involuntary pet gating is in, then it's time to revert 1 damage Meteor Swarms and house explosion pot damage as well.
