The argument behind the orcish kin mask issue is kind of moot with the guild update patch allowing rp guilds to be "allied" without resorting to masks.
I like my blessed orkish kin mask, it's a neat little thing to have, and it's blessed because randomly you never know when you'll need to be at an orc fort or cave and keep aggro off of you. I think it and the mask of the wilds are the only effect having masks we have, so I think they are neat. I wish we could use BOD reward dyes on them. And once again, let us provo on players, if anyone has ever played with that being possible, you'll realize how nice it is when I pk comes running in and you provo a drag on them to make them step off of your nuts. (and sometimes you can manage some offense without getting mowed down)
Not only that, but provoking mobs onto your friends at treasure maps is a pastime long missed by myself and friends. :/
Yeah, I think Pirul actually survived the last one we went on. A travesty like that cannot be allowed to continue!
I'm actually unsure if I have ever played a server where you couldn't provo monsters onto other players. You can certainly have quite a bit of fun with would be attackers, or random people etc. Nothing funnier than a red chasing after you and a whomp/fire breath from a drag out of no where lolz
My lord this still has not been added, this was I think the first major mechanic we were talking about 2+ years ago...
I feel like before this gets implimented we should make provo'ing and discord ing pets agressive actions, or at least allow issuing commands to pets to break the provo.
If there was a command to break a pet Provo, why bother with implementing pvp Provo in the first place? Not that this would ever get put in. Nothing will jeopardize the tamers gameplay here. You know this.
You can already provo onto pets, and when this is done the pets ignore all commands until the mob is dead. It also is not a criminal action and it should be
Back on OSI, I believe provoking onto a player or their pet was a criminal act. Though, I'm don't remember this one too well.
One of my favourite toons here is a provo mage, i think its just one of the most fun templates to play overall. Would love to see provo onto players.
OMG Provoking onto players and peacemaking as well as discoing pets/summons should be a thing. I agree with a few tweaks, but it needs to be a thing. I propose the following... The delay is intended to not completely nullify the bard skills in combat, but at the same time not completely nullify the use of a players pets that have an equal amount of skillpoints invested. Its a compromise! Provoking: *Provoking a monster onto any blue (pet/player/NPC) other than yourself should be criminal *Provoking anything onto another player/pet/NPC should count as aggression (heat of battle) *Players Pets should be "too obedient" to be provoked onto their masters, but fair game on anything or anyone else. After a small delay (1-5seconds?) normal commands, or hits should override the provoke with an x% success rate. (what ever % a monster that is hit has to break out of peace) Peacemaking pets/summons: *Global peacemaking (target: self/object/area) should put the pet/summon in the "stop" mode (Erase aggro, wander) Any command should be taken both immediately and normally following the global peace *Single target peacemaking a players pet/summon should be a normal peace for a small delay (1-5 seconds?) This means that for that small amount of time, any hit from friend or foe has the normal chance to break the peace trance. Once the delay has expired, normal pet commands have the same chance as a hit to break the trance. *Single target peacemaking a blue, player controlled pet, should count as both a criminal action as well as an aggressive one (heat of combat) *Global peacemaking should remain a neutral action. Discordance: * Discordance should work normally, perhaps with a reduced duration (no idea how long disco lasts) but should count as both a criminal action as well as an aggressive one (heat of combat)
