Secret Santa: 2017

Not everyone has posted images of their gifts!

Thank you Santa! This is possibly my favorite player run event every year!

Twas the night before Christmas, and I had locked my house.
*Remember this is UOR, and Blackeye or his gang are always around*
Nothing was stirring not even a mouse.

I fell asleep in my chair
contentedly slowly drawing in air.

but suddenly I awoke to the greatest of clatter
I jumped up from my chair to see what was the matter.

The door was still barred
but what lay on the floor left my jaw ajar.

a simple white bag lay in the floor
how did it get in here without someone opening the door?

With caution i peeked inside
what I saw nearly made me cry,

how could someone know of that which I dream
It was satisfactorily answered by the printed rheam.

So , this one thing I say before I bid you adieu
Merry Christmas to all and Secret Santa, THANK YOU!

Chrismas morning is finally here and I was able to open my gift.
It is just what I am looking for.... ... maps, maps, maps

and the art work...
you shouldn't have done it, I just dont have the hart to brake it down - i'll keep it as it is for good luck.

I can't wait to explore the treasure and the pirate maps. Already tried to get some as fisher but so far haven't been lucky. It's adventure time!

The anticipation was too much. I woke early and saddled Dunele. Riding away from the Tower of the Dark Octopus with a young heart. What gift awaits? Father has always been good to those honor-bound Sosarians.

This year was even better.

I found him in glorious reds and greens in his festive tower. Father Christmas himself! The legend every young eye watches from their warm homes in Skara Brae to catch a glimpse. Here he was. Atop a Christmas bear, no less! Fitting indeed.

He checks his list. It feels like forever. I follow a code of respect for others, but nobody is perfect. There was that time in Covetous...

"Ah! Here you are. Mostly good! Let me go get something from my vaults."



Relief, replaced with elation, I take the bag. I thank Father Christmas, my gratitude stammering out in bursts.

Once back in the tower, I rifle through the bounty. So many treasures! 'Tis clear that good deeds don't go unnoticed. Merry Christmas to all!

I really enjoy the gifts I have received! The jewelry and lovely shirt. Stacks of diamonds! I have hung the lovely artwork, placed the vase, and arranged a variety of other sundries about the tower. If someone stepped in for the absent secret santa previously assigned to me, thank you! Whoever gave, I appreciate this greatly.

Also, I appreciate the kind words of the person who received my gift. I worried over what to get for folks who can buy nearly whatever they want. I opted for creating something thoughtful while trying to include as much actual worth as possible, yet almost trashed the thing a number of times, certain that it seemed too lame. It was exciting to see the appreciation for the gift.

And thanks for sharing your gifts. It's been fun to see what other folks have received as well. Cheers to all!

the lows of Sosarian Humanity strike again.
Is it not enough that Father Christmas despite taking part in over 100 trades, spending hours decorating the small tower, running up and down those stairs, Safely storing a large percentage of Sosarian wealth, speaking to each and every player who came to drop off or collect gifts, spending over 600 hours online still doesn't Qualify for plat last month, despite qualifying for 2 plat in November.
I then find him this morning murdered, his Pet Polar bear killed, half the decoration ore stolen, probably his clothes decayed and someone has tamed and renamed a local bird "willransom."

it puts even the great Jolly Man in a bit of a funk

The plat part you might want to message Treasureman or Chris about wouldn't get why you wouldn't

Other part ya some people are junk like Shad said but I for one loved the secret santa and thought the house was so cool!!! I had fun stalking my person and trying to find things that would make them happy. Getting to drop things off at a house that was festive just made it better!! If the bear wasn't bonded I would be happy to give Father Christmas a new polar bear mount

I have had a discussion with @Chris re the Plat issue, I still don't understand it if I am honest as he earned Plat while I was decorating but apparently it is because despite the hours/conversations/steps taken etc. he still only has 104 skill points.
I too had a huge amount of fun playing him during the event, probably the most fun in a month by any of my characters. Thankfully I had bonded my Polar bear so all good there, thanks for the offer @CD.
It's just a reminder that there will always be grinches out there. By the way, if anyone has a spare Santa/Grinch suit they felt like donating or selling please let me know as he will need a new set of clothing for next year IF I am to do this again.

I love how the Secret Santa event brings the community together. I enjoyed learning about my charge, and I love how my SS took the time to figure out what I would want most, rather than just going with what most people think they know about me.
