Due to our hosting company being bought out by Level3 communications they have decided to consolidate their data center locations. In light of this our Virginia data center is now closing. Since we moved to this location it has been a great experience for our american and European players. We were given the choice of finding a new hosting company or moving to one of the data centers that Level3 is moving everyone to. Given that our current host has provided us with Ironclad DDOS protection and awesome stability we have decided to stick with them despite the move. They also offered us several months of free services, which given how Renaissance is funded (player donations, benevolence) this is huge for our yearly budget. So today around 7pm CST (8pm EST, 5pm PST) time we will be moving to our new home in California. To connect immediately after the change you will need to enter the following information into razor. play.uorenaissance.com or 188.8.131.52 After a few hours you can resume using login.uorenaissance.com once the DNS changes spread globally. While the server transitions to the new host we will have a 30 minute server war event, usually at the britain graveyard for players to have a bit of no risk fun. Resources, Ethereals, Rez Gates will be provided for players wishing to join the mayhem. Players who do not want to take part in the event, can immediately log into the new server after about 2 minutes. Given the change from the east coast to the west coast of america some of our players could see increases/decreases in their connections. Our international players should hopefully only experience a +/- 20ms variance on their connections. We apologize in advance if your connection worsens, and we would have stayed on the east coast if that option was available. If you experience any connection issues after the chance feel free to contact me (Telamon) on IRC for additional assistance. Notice: If you are a european or international player and your connection has been impacted please post before and after connection details. This will help us determine if this data center is a long term solution or if we need to look into alternate locations.
