The problem with this pet stat loss is it doesn't really hurt the tamers that farm all day. They are just as effective farming with a dragon with 90 magery and 90 resist as they are farming with one with 100 magery and 100 resist. The only person that this hurts is the min/maxxers that have extreme OCD like myself and only want/will play when their dragons/characters are 100%. If my dragon dies, I go back to macroing for 2-3 days which means I am not playing. I'm sure noone cares about 1 less person playing, but it is what it is. UO has always been about afk macro playing anyway right?
Translation: The problem isn't how this change affects the shard... it's how it affects me!!!! Get over yourself.
I'm sure there's quite a few like minded people. It seems the 10 pvpers that are always the ones complaining for changes over the many, are the ones that need to "get over themselves" The argument has been that it prevents people from farming yada yada, the farmers aren't hurt at all honestly, 2 freshly tamed dragons work just as well. And this is a constructive thread for discussing issues. Not for flaming people. Take your negative comments and go drop a house. Negative people really amaze me. I'm sorry you are unhappy with your life and how it has turned out, but please don't take it out on us.
Back to the topic at hand... I think a 2.5% to even 5% would be an effective stat loss IF there was a timer. There should be no reason that if I rez my dragon after it being killed, that I can instantly be given another 2.5% within a 30 second period, when I can't give a count in the same period. I think there should be a 5 minute timer on the stat loss. If you rez and die within that 5 minute period, you only take the 1x 2.5%. Or, a 5% to all stats except magery. Magery with a 1%.
Exactly. Sorry that some bullshit restriction you are putting on yourself (only playing when your chars are min maxxed) isn't super easy to achieve anymore. (Even though it is) If you had some mental issue where you only paid twice the market rate for items... would you expect Telamon to change monsters to drop twice as much gold or something? ... lol. Your logic sucks. Also: Calling you out on your bullshit does not make me a hater... or a negative person. Sorry. PS. It's painfully obvious people are really stretching for insults when they start saying things like "Take your negative comments and go drop a house." ... IN A POST WHERE YOU CALL ME OUT FOR INSULTING YOU.... lol PPS. Did I mention that you are kidding yourself if you think this shard has 10 pvpers?
I never said the shard has 10 pvpers. I said 10 pvpers that complain for changes. You being 1 of them (if you call yourself a pvper) There's a difference in voicing your opinion in an open discussion and talking down and acting like a dickhead to fuel your superiority complex when you are feeling inferior. As much as I would love to carry on this wonderful productive conversation Mindless, I just don't have the time to argue with close minded people. It's obvious from as many times that you have been banned from irc or ragequit for some reason or the other that you are a ticking timebomb and I do not wish to get you to this point. I will leave it at that.
Translation: "I'm not going to contribute anything to this conversation ... even though I bitched about it getting off topic in my previous post"
This is absolutely the most reasonable "solution" (to a non-existent problem) I've read in this thread. But why are you immediately ressing your dead pets in the heat of battle? It sounds to me like you need to re-tune your OCD. (Although, sometimes they die in the middle of the bandage timer, and do insta res in my experience... this is something you CAN be aware of... )
Obviously you have never did the level 7 maps, especially the ones that poison. Even when 1-2 characters are arch curing non stop, with all follow me spam from half health, they still die. About 99% of the time when fighting the spider queen. Unless you bring 4-5 tamers or don't bring a tamer at all. I understand making something harder for tamers, that makes sense, but to make it to where its a 100% death to a pet if you bring a tamer, means you will be macroing 2-3 days everytime you run this particular map, OR bring throwaway dragons(original solution)
I understand he was making a joke about the shard not having any pvpers. There is obviously more than 10 pvpers(that think they can pvp/gank). Do you have any words of wisdom to add to this thread or are you here to troll? I have seen nothing that you have contributed anywhere here on the forums or ingame that has helped the community or the server. Just words to tear it or other people down.
My original sentiments have nothing to do with PvP and as long as the griefing ceases to exist, I would be 100% for statloss during pvp. IF the tamers were attempting to pvp and not just being pked and then having their pets/dragons killed. My problem is strictly when doing things that have a 100% deathrate on dragons, such as the arachnid level 7 map(with the poison). Even with 1-2 guys casting chain arch cure, they most of the time usually eat the big one when doing this with 3 tamers or less. I understand the maps are supposed to be anti-tamer to an extent, but this makes it throwaway dragons or nothing simply because of the hit to magery. I wasn't 100% sure that this problem was being caused from all guard me during pvm tho. When you give the dragons an "all follow me" command does this not remove the "all guard me" command? Do you have to put in an "all stay" to get them to cease the "all guard me"?
Obviously, bonding is creating friction and discontent to those on both sides of this issue. The obvious solution is do away with the notion that pets should come back from the dead 7xGM.
