Kirby awoke with a start. He looked around the wooden walls of the room around him to get his bearings. After a minute, he remembered where he was. Getting out of his bed in The Bountiful Harvest in Ocllo, he began to dress himself. Being just a Young man, he had not been able to procure his own housing, yet, so he found himself staying at the main Inn of the great town of Ocllo. Mounting his horse, he left the Inn, and headed into town. He went by his bank and looked at the guildstone he kept in there. He had received the stone as a gift upon his beginnings in this world and wasn’t sure what to do with it. He didn’t want it to go to waste, so he needed to figure something out soon. Later that day, while wandering through the forest, Kirby came across a man named DarkWing. Wary of strangers, Kirby cautiously introduced himself. After a lengthy conversation, this “DarkWing” character invited Young Kirby to stay at his house. Kirby was delighted. No more would he have to endure the humiliation of sleeping on uncomfortable mattresses covered in stains even the best Forensic Detective could not identify. Kirby got to work learning a trade. DarkWing had invited him to join his band of thief hunters called COP, but Kirby wasn’t sure. Still, he needed to learn to fight. Kirby invited his friend Sir Didymus to join him at DarkWing’s house, but as they began to spar, a warning came to him, as if from the Gods themselves. “This act will flag you as a criminal!” it said. Kirby didn’t know what to do! They needed to train, but he did not want to break any laws. He finally worked out a solution that would solve two of his problems. With DarkWing’s permission, Kirby placed his guildstone at the loaner house, naming it Kirby [kk]. His adventures were just beginning. After a few months of training, Kirby was no longer a Young man. He set out across the world to make a name for himself. Rather than travel the lands, as most would, he decided he would live a life at sea. Kirby, along with his friends Regis and Nicky, became fishermen. One day, Kirby saw a man named CordeliaBlack while in town. The two began talking and became great friends. CordeliaBlack ended up introducing Kirby to the Project Sanctuary, and Kirby asked to join. Unfortunately CordeliaBlack found himself in hot water with the guild and decided to leave. Not wanting to see his friend all alone in the world, Kirby invited Cordelia to join him in his guild. He renamed the guild Kirby and CordeliaBlack and changed the guild’s symbol to [K$C]. The [K$C] crew worked tirelessly, ridding the seas of vile monsters, Kirby being a mage and Cordelia being a tamer of animals. It seemed to be a partnership that would never end. Unfortunately, one day Cordelia left and did not return. Kirby waited and waited, even stocking up on the fishing nets the pair used to ensnare the creatures they killed, but to no avail. CordeliaBlack did not return. By this point, [K$C] had grown to include Kirby’s extended family, including some who were crafters. Kirby and CordeliaBlack had gone back to being just Kirby. In order to keep the guild accurate, Kirby decided to change the name once again, keeping the [K$C] symbol but making the name Kirby & Co. He would use this name to sell his wares to the people of Britannia, and use the symbol to keep the memory of his friend CordeliaBlack alive.
