    Update
    • Added a 25 charge furniture dye tub for 75 platinum

Several players requested this until the carpentry bulk order deed system is complete.

I had a dream that I could purchase an orb with platinum and it would allow me to attempt to tame anything, one time use. I ended up taming a dolphin.... go figure.

    Reward suggestion: placable water tiles.

Obviously -- not fishable -- just decor-wise -- I'd be willing to plop 15 plat per tile to make convincing water themed deco in a house, like the carpet pieces.

Suggestion: Anything cool in a NPC house that is a basically a wasted home item.

What about runestone dye tubs? The original function on OSI of the runebook dye tub was unlimited charges, and it worked for both books and stones. I'm all for keeping the runebook dye tub as an exclusive; but what about a separate tub for dying runestones w/ unlimited use?

I always liked the color coding of locations within books -- makes having your own 'legend' for quick access a lot easier.

We disabled that for the time being, mostly to keep people from accidentally burning runebook dye tub charges on accident. The only issue related to adding it back is the cost in platinum of the runebook dye tubs is based on dying runebook. It might be considered a tad expensive for runes. However we are open to that change.

My thought was more -- the value of dyed rune books is a good thing, but applying that same value to dyed runes seemed excessive. I was thinking something along the lines of a secondary dye tub, specifically for runestones that had its own unlimited use. That way, a rune library owner can color code things, or for personal use -- but you still have the higher valuation for the runebooks that have been dyed/runebook dye tubs. Are they intrinsically tied together at a code level?

Yes. However that is the same conclusion that the staff came to. If we allowed both, the value would not be the same. Adding a rune dye tub is an option down the road.

    Perhaps something like this...

Keep runebook dye tubs the way they are:
    150 platinum
    25 uses
can be applied only to books

Add a new item, the rune dye:
    150 platinum
    unlimited uses
can be applied only to individual, loose runes
    (re-marking would clear coloring)
To distinguish between the 2, maybe even use a different graphic--the dye bottle perhaps.
Also, it would be great to see dyed runes show their text in color, especially when in a runebook.

That's actually viable I suspect, although I will need to review how runes are stored in a runebook.

Gimmie my special dye tub already! But don't make the charges expire. If you do that the shard will be less well dressed.

Questions in IRC about the "defensive" cloaks and robes.

What body part do they add AR to?
If they apply AR to, let's say chest, and you're wearing a leather tunic, does the robe AR stack with the tunic AR?
Do the robes and cloaks ever suffer damage?

I have tested and cloaks never take damage. They are on their own 'layer' of the body that is not applicable to damage, along with body sashes.

No idea where the AR stacks to.
