The morning sun was just beginning to rise. It made an incredible backdrop as I looked out over the harbor in Cove. But I was just too busy to notice. "If you don't take the time to just stop and drink in the richness of a new day, then you are not taking full advantage of all the joy in your life," a voice rang out behind me.It was a an elderly grey-haired woman named Morgana dressed in a plain brown robe. Well, That is not what she really said. We have all heard these travelers yell out as we run close by them: "I am waiting for my escort", and then they name a destination and say, "just say I will take thee." Morgana was no different. She was looking for me to help her travel to Yew. But I think she was actually trying to get me to stop for a moment. For in those brief moments of decision, perhaps I would stop just long enough to really see the brilliance of the day. To tell the truth, I was not really looking for something or someone to interrupt my 'busyness'. But the momentary stoppage of my time worked. I saw the incredible sun-painted morning sky. I saw the sea birds floating over the bay seemingly without a care in the world. The water was bluer than I ever imagined. I saw the surrounding mountain side glistening with sunlight. The hues looked like the very rock was embedded with precious and rare stones. And yet I knew that the rock was simply just that - rock. But still, it glowed, and I forgot just why I had come to the little hamlet of Cove. Nor did I care to remember. For in those brief moments, the whole world seemed to stop. All that seemed 'important' was no longer. Everything was right in the world, and I need not do anything to make it better. All that was required was my presence to enjoy this breath-taking panorama. In an attempt to thank Morgana for the 'correction' of my focus, I spoke the words, "I will take thee." I walked to the end of the dock and summoned a gate. The glistening portal I summoned was no match for the crystal blue sea. I stepped into the gate, and Morgana followed. She thanked me for my compassion and paid me a few coins. But I did not need her thanks or coins. I had all ready gotten all the bounty I needed for the day. I quickly stepped back through the portal. I wished to soak up much more of the 'Beauty of the Realm'. Travelers of this Realm: Never become too busy to see the beauty that lays all around you. Take time each day to stop and enrich you life.
