The Cove Fortress Library will host UOR's first ever Royal Rumble on Sunday December 7 at 10:00pm EST. I expect it to take 30 minutes or less, from start to finish. This will mostly be a tuning event where we test out the mechanics of the competition. I have many ideas in mind for future full-fledged iterations of the event. How it works: - I will collect character names and IRC names before the event. You must be logged into IRC for this event. - I will randomize the names of the participants such that only I know the order of them. - participants will be in the northwest turret of the fortress ("backstage") with empty backpacks and no protective clothing, armor or weapons - at specific intervals (1 minute for this first run), I will ping the player in IRC whose turn it is to join the rumble. If you are lapped (i.e. the person after you goes in before you), you are eliminated. - they will climb the ladder, go through the one-way arch, and enter the ring - I will provide a horse or some other blue animal for them to go aggressive against, so as to turn gray and not give out murder counts. - players will fight in the ring with their bare hands. Bandages, potions, and spells, are not allowed. - the final player alive after everyone has entered will be the winner of the royal rumble The ideal character for the event would have GM Wrestling, Tactics, Anatomy, and 100 Strength and Dexterity. I think those are the only things that can impact fighting ability. But more important is alliances. (Note: in future iterations of this, I have some special ways to ensure players have incentive not only to make alliances, but to break them as well!) If interested in participating, please let me know your character name and IRC nickname in advance of 10:00pm EST.
Entrance order: Vader Dwight Gromph Mesdoram Eldmor Brass Knuckles Erza Spazz Ayame Ezzenglade Xegugg Maribella Top placers: 5th - Ezra 4th - Maribella 3rd - Mesdoram Eldmor 2nd - Gromph 1st - Xegugg
Seemed to work very well at the beginning. The end was pretty long, but I have some ideas on how to speed that up next time.
Just before the final blow! Xeg was behind two opponents until landing a few good hits, dodging some others and somehow pulls out a victory!
